I'm thinking of going with 20.. played 25 for a few games now, and it wasn't horrible... Ortiz hit 3 HRS in 2 games, Drew hit 1 against me, Lowell hit one too... now playing Detroit, and Ordonez just hit one... so i'm up in the air with leaving it at 25.

20 sound good to you, or a little higher? where do you have it set as?
What has helped me with HRs with some of my "lesser" players is pitch selection and pushing the right stick in the direction of the pitch. I'm finding pitches up in the zone a little easier to take out than anything else. Fontenot's two HRs were both up and in and pulled down the line. I'm also having a lot of luck on hanging curve balls. I think the only person on my starting roster is Pie. Surprisingly, I've only hit one HR with Ramirez, but then again he's only hitting .205.
I also think the step influence has a lot to do with your success on hitting with power.

Just keep in mind that teams should average just barely over 1 HR per game.

      Home Run Statistics:

MLB Team Average in 2007: 165 HR
MLB Team Leader in 2007: 231 HR (Milwaukee)
MLB Worst Team in 2007: 102 HR (Kansas City)

In all, only 19 teams averaged at least 1 HR per game.

i love everything about these...but yes im having trouble getting them out of the park too..and even my singles seem so blah like its a struggle to get to the OF so i may raise them to 40 as well like everyone else and see whats good...despite playing with KC i need some compensation here lol!!!!!! so 40 it is...once i get good and if i start jacking them out...wishful thinking this is KC i can always lower them..but the rest of these are on point

Daz is on to it. You need to use the swing stick. Big difference. In my first game with the SS 2.0 last night I jacked one to right with Fukudome that hasn't landed yet. I think the hit variety is better with it.

You could be right. I just feel so comfortable with the Classic Batting. What are you using for Pitching / Throwing?

I'm using Trinity's sliders with the power at 18 or 19. With the swing stick I've had to lower the human contact slider to about 60. I'm really liking the results I've been getting. I have games with zero HRs and then a smattering of HRs. I don't think I've had but one game out of the near 50 I've played that have been HR fests. I'm new to the series having played the Show on the PSP for the last two years so the classic hitting is something I'm not overly comfortable with. I've tried to go to classic hitting only to come back to the swing stick 2.0.

How about pitching and throwing? Let's figure this out. I am in the MST Zone and can play all night!

I personall usic classic for pitching and throwing, with pinpoint pitching... I'm just not comfortable using swing stick, so I use classic batting. I wouldn't douubt that swing stick would help with the USER HR's though by non power hitters. Maybe being left-handed has to do with it, anyway you can change the swing stick to be the left analog instead of having to use the right analog???

                      Daz,

I just started a game with swingstick 2.0.. going to try your theory out, and so far I'd say it does make a huge difference. Question though.. what is your human power slider set as?? And also, since your using swinstick, the step influence has to be used, so what's your slider setting at that?? I have power at 45, and step influence at 50...

FIrst inning,I struck out twice and I hit a HR with Braun from the brewers.. playing in Milwaukee. I'm not too comfortable with it, but if it helps me get HRs with say.. Peralta, Blake, and heck, even Sizemore on my franchise, then I must give it a shot. I'll update the sliders again with use of 2.0 if I can get somewhat comfortable with it.

First game using swingstick 2.0, used al sliders that are set on first page. Main ones are human power at 45, AI power is 23.

I was the Brewers playing at home against the Cubs.

                        Zambrano- 4.0ip 7 H 3 ER 0 BB 5K

Brewers Hitting: 9 singels, 5 doubles, 1 HR (Braun)
Cubs Hitting: 5 singles, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 HR (Fokudome)

Overall, it was a great game, with pretty good stats. Only thing I'm worried about is my offense.... am I going to always get that many hits?

and question.. the cpu pinched hit for Zambrano in the 4th inning, taking him out way too early I thought. Is this normal, as I've been playing in the A.L. so i haven't experienced this yet.

I have a question, when i finished typing in these sliders my difficulty says "custom-p" does it really matter?

also, why did it do this? i'm positive i typed them in mostly perfect.

I've got step influence at 25 and human contact at 60. I had to turn down your human contact with the swing stick because I was making contact on everything. I'm still messing with the human contact slider and may lower it to 55 because I feel like I'm still making too much contact. A lot depends on the pitcher and how well they change speeds.

What about power for human? I'll play another one using swingstick with 60 at contact, and 25 step.. last game i had step infl. at 50! I'm sure this game will see a big difference in something
