I'm having trouble with these sliders...

Ok here's my problems...I'm using total control pitching... last night against the dodgers they hit 4 homeruns off of me and three in the same inning... what am I doing wrong? what can I change?... Also using these sliders with the brewers I only managed to score 1 run in two games and the hits I had were mostly singles a few doubles in there... someone help me to generate some offense

dude same here...but ive noticed when you lower the total control pitching slider to about 50 dont go any lower...your meter gets slower so you can manage it until you get the hang of it..i think i played an exhibition and with zach greinke i struck out 16 guys..so thats why i moved it up to 65 clicks from 0 to make it a little more challenging...and also trinity's take ball and strike settings are right on..because if they are too low the cpu wont swing at balls and then you gotta pitch behind in the count and make a perfect pitch and there go your homers...i personally throw a **** load of balls i dont give up many homers with these sliders..i just cant hit..but i blame KC lol thats why im moving the hitting sliders a little....so try to move your total control slider down that should hellp you a bit..and throw balls they'll chase

Throwing to the catcher's suggestions also helps a lot with strike outs.

I use classic pitching, so with TCP.. i'm not sure what setting to use. But, with these sliders, i've been able to strike batters out just fine. I had 12K's in one gaem, but I average prolly 3-5K's per game. Don't mess with AI take balls and strikes, cuz they are fine. I would say too to throw to the catcher's suggestion. I ALWAYS do it no matter what, even its a curveball middle of plate, or a changeup inside, I do it anyway, and don't see to give up many HR's at all.

If you're having trouble with offense, I say to lower pitch difficulty maybe.. don't mess with AI pitching if you can help it... Are you using the sliders I have set for AI fielding speed, and reaction speed?? Cuz I have found they are prolly the biggest sliders to tweak in the game, especially when it comes to getting and hits on offense. I believe where I have them set now are just about perfect.

I think I'm at 30-40 or so with TCP. Gives me enough pinpoint control yet if I don't pay attention I can really get burned.

Are you getting any User HR's with your power set at 52?? Is that where you have it set anyway? If so, are any coming from non-power hitters? like, your smaller guys in the lineup, instead of guys like Butler??

Reason I ask, is cuz I have power to 45, and thats using classic hitting, and I can only seem to manage HR's with Hafner, and Martinez, and yet only have had 1 each with them, and oh ya.. I had 1 qwith Peralta! I'm much more comofortable using classic hitting.. I can generate a good realistic amount of hits, but just no HR's for some reason.

In the few games I've played with swingstick, I've hit only 2 HRs I think, but been well over 10 hits per game, which I don't want to happen every game, so I'm just gonna go back to classic instead of trying to tweak on sliders all over again to get it right. Thanks!

Just lost 5-3 to the Yankees, using the Red Sox. Beckett pitching for me, Wang for them.

No homeruns. I had like 4 in the last game I played though, so I'm not concerned. Plus Wang pitched most of the game and he's a sinkerball pitcher.

21 hits?!? bat average was .500!! I only had 2 HRs though, by Soriano and Fokudome. What might help this, cuz its been 4 straight games now with over 10 hits, and I'm not havin all that... think I may need to up AI fieldingf speed and reaction to where it was, cuz it plays a huge part. and lower human contact, and maybe something with AI pitching...?

I have games like this. It's either something with the game giving you a boost for some reason, or I'm really locked into that certain pitcher(s) that night. Occasionally I just read a pitcher really well, or they have a pitch combination that I just rock on...usually more curves up in the zone than normal.

I just write it off as one of those games when my team is on.

Just wanted to post some of my user stats so far with the sliders for those that have been using them, and those who are thinking about using them...

Record, I am 17-10 with 2 games gone into extra innings

41 Walks... 44 AB's per HR, 22 AB's per walk

1 Shutout, 6 Saves out of 10 oppurtunities(Sad! lol)

242.0ip 10.2 pitches per inning

WHIP= .921

200 hits.. .200 batting avg against

65 ER's with 2.42 ERA

134 singles, 37 doubles, 4 triples, 25 HR's

131 K's 23 Walks.... 4.9K's per 9 innings

8 CG's 73.5% strike percentage

Feel free to post your user stats as well guys! It really helps to see what sliders need to maybe be tweaked in order to get more realistic stats... Looking at mine, I don't walk many, but its hard to with the ump calling strikes at clear balls all the time, and it goes both ways too so.. Other than that, I think my offense overall is pretty good, AI's offense batting avg isn't great though... may need to decrease my fielder reaction speed to allow for a couple more hits a game or so??

Played a couple games with these sliders and my only problem is I'm getting a ton of hits. I actually brought down the Hitter Skill and Contact sliders a bit. Other than that, I really like these.

i think the Ai power needs to be boosted...I am too not giving up enough runs to the Ai..nor am i giving up enough HRs..maybe like 10 or 15 clicks..other then that these sliders are perfect...I thinkin hitting is dead on ...If you feel like your gettin too many hits raise the Pitcher Difficulty ...other then raising the Ai power i dont kno what else u can do to improve the Ai batting since the skill is 100...try it trinity see what you think...because at 2.45 era is not realistic .. 4 era is where that number should be at...Raising the Ai power should make the Ai more competitive...And bro you have Human power at 50!.. i think that is wayyy too much..i have mine at 20-25...and i am still gettin decent amount of hrs with everyone in my lineup ..the trick is you have to work the count and look for that pitch up in the zone...My only problem like i said is Ai Avg/Power...other then that these sliders are perfect for how i play

Do you use total control pitching? Last night I gave up 4 bombs to the Phillies last night (2 to Ryan Howard)... I was pitching with John Maine... I lost 10-6... Phillies had 15 hits
