Sucks to hear you got no hit in one game. That happened to me in the Show 08 against Beckett. Man was that frustrating.

I never had 2K9 so I can't compare the two games. But I've never had a problem with someone criticizing a game. I think everyone can agree that 2K10 isn't perfect. What one person thinks is good may be bad for someone else. Some people take it WAY too personally if a game they like gets criticized. It's just someone's opinion. Everyone's different.

      Re: Blazzen's MLB2K10 Slider Thread

It's the speed of this game... Hits...throws - it's just all too fast. Now, I like the idea of split-decision making, especially a shot to the hot corner. But everything about this game is just too fast - running speed, the speed of a hit ball, and the speed in which a player makes a throw to a base.

I think my problem is possibly my age as well. I'm going on 38 and I'm finding video games less enjoyable in general. I'm not going to dick around with this game for months. I feel that 2k has done a 2 steps forward, 1 step back approach with this season's game. I like the speed of 2k9...they did seem to fix the missed fly balls, but then they screw the rosters all up (impossible to find all the prospects tied to the fake names and the limited CAPs and player name edits).

The hitting has a completely different feel from last year, so I have a LOT to learn. By about the 5th inning I was so pissed I was hacking at everything (LOL!!).

feel the same way. I've said the same thing in other threads/discussions.

The game does play too fast in some areas, especially hit balls through the infield. I couldnt even begin to count the number of times that a grounder through the infield has been out of the infield before the camera can even focus, much less let you or the CPU attempt to get to the ball. That is very annoying.

You only say you like 2K9 better because you could actually hit in that game. C'mon...there's no way 2K9 is better than this game. There's no way any 2K next-gen game is better than this game.

I'm in a game right now (not w/ these sliders BTW) that is 5-3, atl over phi, and ATL has 4 extra base hits, I've stolen successfully 5 times, have drawn 3 walks (1 IBB), and have struck out 7 and struck out myself 5 times.

The stealing I mention alone would not have happened in 2K9, and I got 5 tonight thanks to a slow wind up from Derek Lowe and Saito.

i never said that 2k9 was a "better game..." i said it was "better IN SOME AREAS than 2k10" - BIG difference. i like a number of things about 2k10...but i like the speed of the game in 2k9 as opposed to 2k10. in my opinion, they screwed the game up by speeding up the element of play. and that's a huge thing in a baseball game.

thats what makes 2k9 better in some aspects. 5 steals in a game. what ever happened to working for steals.

I agree with everything mkharsh has said so far when it comes to 2k10 and 2k9.

2k10 has alot going for it, but the pacing is lost due to the speed of the game, and the automatic fielding. havent noticed any bobbled balls by the fielders. hitting in 2k9 was better, or should I say the feel of the swing stick was better.

2k10 looks sharp and crisp, but 2k9 animations were also pretty good and in some aspects looked better.

Im playing 2k10 and 2k9 to see which one is better.

2k10 I like the amount of stat overlays/info we get during the game.
I like the fact that there are more walks.
the plays ending before ending needs to be patched. I absolutely hate it when I throw the ball from the outfield and the play goes to the next batter. I seriously hope this will be patched. if not that's definitely a deal breaker.

I've played a number of games and I've made some adjustments. Basically had to make the game a little bit more difficult.

                  See first page for update.

                    Re: Blazzen's MLB2K10 Slider Thread

played my second game (using your sliders before the recent tweaks)...wow, what a change.

i was cleveland vs. kansas city (cpu)

I won 8-5...cpu had 16 hits and i had 15. branyan hit 2 homers and had 5 rbi.

all of a sudden everything just clicked. i've updated your sliders into mine.

also, i changed user pitch meter speed to 90 as i've found the lower setting too easy to hit my spots.

after playing with joe's sliders a bit, there were some things I liked and some things I didnt, so I took what I liked and applied them to my sliders along with making a few other slight tweaks.

                      changes updated on first post.

I like the pitch meter speed maxed out at 100...I think anything less makes it too easy to hit your spots. I never walk a guy with it under 100...

Does that make it harder to walk guys or just harder to max out your strength? I thought it had more to do with how effective your pitch was rather than control.

                            d. all the above

when your pitcher gets tired it makes it harder to nail it perfectly, which is how it should be. i think this is largely a "muscle memory" type of thing. i played so many games last year (2k9) that it came back to me quickly. if i don't max this one out, i never walk a guy and have way too much control. it also makes you make good use of your relievers... i love the realism i get by maxing this one out...

                                Re: Blazzen's MLB2K10 Slider Thread

First of all i'd like to thank Blazzen and itbeme on there outstanding efforts on creating and sharing of this years slides. Great Job guys!

So currently i'm using the New york mets as my franchise team this year. As of now im in the battle with philly and florida for the 1,2,3 slot. i usually score about 2-5 runs per game (if i win) and its usually a close game.

The previous sliders i've been using have been using for myself have been doing a fair job but i found myself winning 5-6 games in a row so im looking for some sliders that will give me a challenging ballgame. I plugged in your sliders and decided to try them out against philly. i ran into a few concerns maybe you can give me advice on what to lower/higher?

The first inning i led off with a double and i noticed how much more realistic the speed of the outfielders were! (great job) i proceeded to earn 2 runs in that inning. Time to switch up. philly comes up and i get a 1,2,3..good stuff. i come up for the top of the second and i score 1 run in that inning. The score is 3-0. philly comes up for the bottom of the second and they dish out some singles and a double but only get 1 run.The score is 3-1. next inning i go down for 0 runs and 2 singles. the phillys come up to bat in the bottom of the third. i give up 1 single, get one out, they steal to second, and now it's the pitchers turn to bat. The computer decides to pinch hit for the pitcher and it is only the 3rd inning.. i found that really strange. They score 1 run that inning. Skip to the 6th inning and i just go insane with the bat. by the end of the inning i score 6 runs making the score 8-2. skip to the 8th Ike davis comes to bat and hits a two run shot out of the park for 402 ft Lol. i end up winning the game 11-2.

i just have a few concerns.
                                - the computer pinch hitting for the pitcher in the 3rd
                                - the amount of strikes the pitcher throws
                                - the amount of hits (17)
                                - the power of hitters

Any advice that you can think of that may help me out would be greatly appreciated. As for these sliders i am enjoying how the computer is getting more hits.

                                Thanks in advance!
