Are you guys enjoying the classic hitting even with the pull/push controls being backwards? I love classic hitting and this game feels a lot like the hitting in MVP 05. I'm just wondering if it's still fun or if it just gets too frustrating.

If nothing else I guess it makes the game more challenging.

After the tweaks I made, I'm absolutely LOVING this game. Yes, it has its quirks and there are moments you shake your head in disbelief at some things that happen, but by and large, a lot of fun.

The latest sliders I put together call for you to play the game with patience and play like you are in a REAL game of baseball. You need to work cautiously with big bats...you need to throw over and hold speedsters.

What at bat, you need to work the count and get the pitch you want. Work to foul off those you don't feel comfortable with. Offspeed pitches are hard to pick up, but I use the scouting reports in game to help me get a feel for what kind of pitches I'm looking for.

Thanks for the good feedback on this... I'm fairly certain that no changes will be made. Not certain yet what the next patch will do, but these are solid if you're into classic hitting.

I dont touch the left toggle when I hit at all.
There is no need to use it, when you dont use it the hit variety is fantastic!

Only got in one game last night (AAU basketball practice).
Anyway another very good game. Stats below.

As you can see I lost 5-3 to the Braves, they scored all 5 runs in the 3rd off of Chapman.
The only change I may make to this set is lowering human pitcher composure. With it at 100 if you get in a jam the cpu is going to kill you. You have to do a mound visit and then get the pitcher out right away or all hell will break loose. I may change to 90 or 95 and see how that works tonight. The thing is if you put in down around 50 the cpu will not have any big innings.
Anyway back to the game, I really should have won this one. I had the bases loaded with no outs down 5-3 in both the 8th and 9th innings, and failed to score in both innings. Chipper and their SS both went deep in the 5 run 3rd inninng. I hit a 2 run HR with Votto in the 4th.

Like I have said before this slider set is the real deal I would suggest everyone gives it a try, you wont be dissapointed. It has saved the game for me! I am seeing hit varieties that I have not seen before. I saw 3 infield flys in my game last night.

Leave the composure alone... It makes it so much more real. I've been watching a lot of baseball on TV the last few days - it's amazing to me how much this affects a pitcher when he starts to tire. Games often change on momentum and rattled pitchers... I'm finding this to be a LOT of fun with the settings I now have and this is my FINAL set.

Leave the composure alone... It makes it so much more real. I've been watching a lot of baseball on TV the last few days - it's amazing to me how much this affects a pitcher when he starts to tire. Games often change on momentum and rattled pitchers... I'm finding this to be a LOT of fun with the settings I now have and this is my FINAL set.

Yeah but with it at 100 they will be way too rattled even if they are not tired.
Case in point last night:
Chapman cruises thru the first two innings, no hits and 10 pitches thru 2.
3rd inning, first guy doubles, second guy singles, Chapman is rattled, his ball is going all over the place. Next guy homers, I then do a mound visit. Next guy singles and we are back to him being rattled again. Next guy HRS, 5 runs no outs, I had to take him out. I bring in a reliever and I only allow 2 hits the rest of the game.
Like I said at 100 once a guy is rattled it is a must to take him out or your going to loose. There is no trying to battle out of a tough situation, once a guy is rattled get him out.

The beauty of sports is that ANYTHING can happen. I'm guessing that Chapman might not have that happen to him everytime, but this a real possibility. So what is your complaint? That Chapman had a rough inning? I've got the Indians game on at the moment... David Huff was cruising right along and then BAM!!! Goes from being up 2-0 to giving up 4 runs in the inning and now trails 4-2. That's called baseball...

You are taking me wrong too, I have been giving this slider set props all over these boards.
I just suggested that we turn down the 100 composure a little bit, do you not want people opinions or results from you set?

No offense taken... I do appreciate your kind remarks.

But your statement here (quoted above) is not totally true. I've pitched out of plenty of jams, but what I like is that it's not easy. The scouting reports 2k provides (arrow button right and left) are VERY important to see where the batter has a weakness.

If you feel you need to tone the composure down then please do so. I'm not wanting to get into a debate/argument over it. But I absolutely love the feel of it maxed out at 100.

I would, but you can rarely pull or push balls down the line based on their location this way. Hitting becomes too much of a crapshoot. I messed around with stick hitting last night and as much as I don't really like the concept the hit variety is way better.

I'm having some AWESOME games with these sliders... MUCH variety and a lot of fun. I was the Pirates vs. Giants (CPU) using Monday's matchup of Ohlendorf (me) vs. Zito (cpu). I trailed 2-0 (Bowker homerun) after 4 innings and did not have a hit through 4, but I drew 3 walks. I scored 5 runs in the 6th inning on a leadoff triple by Cedeno and station-to-station baseball. The big blast was a 3 run homer by Doumit that broke a 2-2 tie. My bullpen came in and got the job done, including a 3 inning save by Carrasco.

After playing a handful of games this weekend, I am convinced that I LOVE the User Pitcher Composure Influence at 100 - you CAN pitch out of jams, but you've got to be smart and work the ENTIRE strike zone and you also can't be afraid to walk a guy (especially the BIG bats). The first page has my final slider set...

I am loving this game with your slider set!
I played 4 more games last night, check out the variety in hits and scores.
These are all in my Reds franchise.
Game 1 I lost to the Pirates 3-1, game two I beat the Pirates 15-6, game 3 I lost the Astros 2-1 and game 4 I beat the Astros 9-7. The thing I am really liking is the hit variety.
I am now hitting HRS with all types of players.
I am 30-20 in my season, 2.5 games up on the Astros.
My team ERA through the last 10 games is 4.55 and my team BA thru the last 10 is .282.
It was crazy game 1 I had 1 run and 2 total hits!!!
Then the very next game I scored 15 runs on 5 hrs and 25 hits, I went from 2 hits to 25 hits. Again I would highly recommend this set to anyone, you wont find a better SIM set out there.

Great sliders & rosters MK! Thanks for all your efforts. Let's hope we have some news soon about the darn editing limits. BTW, you fooled me here. I was searching on 2K Share for these sliders when you don't have them posted on there. I kept searching with your GT & nothing would come up & now I know why.

I haven't posted them... I figure if anyone wants them they can get all the information here and log them in for themselves. But for the first time ever, I've found a slider set I'm gonna stick with, and it didn't take me until the last day of the season to find them...LOL!!

I think I'm having a brain cramp or something here. Where is the option in the game for the 2 sliders below:

Hitting: Classic
Pitching: Total Control

I can't seem to find these two options & I've looked at the usual places. Have I went blind here?
