MK once again this set has become to easy to pitch with.
The last 6 games I have played the cpu has scored and average of 1.5 runs per game.
I am about done with this game and I am almost 70 games into my season.
The cpu pitching/human hitting is still perfect but like I said the cpu just does not score enough.

MK. I just beat the Reds 3-2 in my Cardinals chise. Carpintar was unhittable. I only had 8 or 9 balls in 7.1 innngs pitched! I was nailing all of my pitches even with the pitch meter at 100. I only threw like 60 pitches total computer threw 102 with Arroyo.

My question is how do you get the computer to be more patient at the plate? I am using ur newest slider set with CPU contact at 55.

                To answer both your questions...

                - jake44np: start raising the CPU contact by increments of 5... If it's getting too easy, then doing this will allow the CPU to make contact on more pitches, forcing you to throw more balls out of the zone. I'd go 5 at a time instead of anything drastic and see what you find.

                - jonmchugh007: Sadly, there is NO fix for this. Here's the problem... If you start lowering the CPU contact then pitching becomes too easy (and they will take more pitches). BUT, you start raising the contact (to make pitching harder) and the CPU gets swing-happy. So there is no answer to this.

Once again, as much as I like this game, it is a lousy simulation baseball product.

What's funny is that I've had some really good games lately. Had a fun comeback win last night (I was the Mets and beat the Cubs). I was down 4-2 in the 9th and tagged Marmol for 2 runs, getting thrown out at home with 2 outs (close play!). I then scored a run in the bottom of the 10th to win (sac fly to deep center).

BUT, today I played the Indians / Twins matchup. I was Cleveland and used Talbot... I was winning 1-0 through 4 then all hell broke loose. Talbot gave up 8 runs in the inning and I brought Jamey Wright in and he gave up 2 more. Altogether 10 runs... I then scored two more to make it 10-3 but then gave up 6 more runs in the 6th inning (Laffey). Joe Smith finally rescued me, not before giving up another run. When all was said and done, I lost 16-3...the only runs scored in those two innings on 19 hits total... But it was funny as I was powerless - Morneau had 5 RBI.

To be honest man, if you want realistic pitch counts etc...then you need to play the game realistically. No pitcher will throw that many pitches for strikes, so you should try throwing some pitches out of the zone. I imagine that you were throwing everything down and on a corner, but that's just a guess. While pitchers would LOVE to be able to do that, it just doesn't happen. So throw some balls!

good call, moledude! that would be like playing madden and running the ball 98% of the time, or playing an nba game and having one player take 98% of the shots.

sure, you could do that, but it's NOT real - and it's not the way the game is played.

same thing with baseball...yeah, you could throw 98% strikes, but NO pitcher does this.

the fun / experience of any game falls largely on YOUR OWN shoulders, not a set of sliders not matter whose they are.

                      Re: mkharsh33's Sliders...Classic Hitting

have been playing this slider set for my Cubs francise and I am really enjoying the variety of game outcomes. I played through spring training to get a feel for the team and to tweak if needed. Started the regular season without adjusting the sliders felt they were very close. First game against the Braves we go 14 ininings and I win 1-0. 2nd game Braves win another pitchers duel 2-1, third game Atlanta jumps up early and going into the 8th leads 9-4, I chase Wagner and score 5 in the inning and end up winning on Ramirez solo shot in the 10th. Reds take 2 of 3 games once again a variety of outcomes. I am very aware of pitch count for both teams and I listen to the catcher 98% of the time. the pitch counts are coming in at about 120 pitches per game, not perfect up acceptable for myself. Looking forward to the patches release, I hope it doesn't affect this slider set to much. My wish list to make this game, would be an errors slider, more realistic attendance dynamics, injuries and a hard to achieve pitching mechanism.

Should I just ignore the left stick when trying to hit a homerun?

I don't use it... I used to, but I like the variety of hits by just timing up your swing using only the A button...reading the location of the pitch is huge, as you can usually take the pitch the direction you want by your swing timing and location of the ball with regard to the strike zone.

Mk do me a favor play a game using cpu hitting sliders at 75 con 75 pwr.
I was recommended these settings by a buddy and they work really well.
The cpu actually scored 8 runs against me using them.
I played three games and gave up 8, 5, and 4 runs.

I have been playing with these sliders for about 30 games or so and i like them alot, just had to do some changes to benefit my style. I had to move user batter contact up to 45 because its just way too hard too make solid contact at 35. I know at 35 you have to be really patient, but i like to jump on the first pitch alot because the computer throws alot of strikes on the first pitch. Im more of an agrresive hitter then patient. Dont get me wrong i get some walks i just like to be more aggresive. Plus when i do get into hitters counts they throw pitches right on the black or just walk me alot of the time.So I just swing at the first good pitch i see. At 45 i still strike out alot, but i get more home runs and doubles then at 35, and my team batting average still stays realistic. I also moved the computers batting contact up to 60 so the get more hits and runs during the sason. All in all i enjoy these sliders and defintely recommened them to anyone
