Re: mkharsh33's Sliders...Classic Hitting
With classic hitting, is it just using the left stick and directing to where the ball is being pitched and swinging?
I've been using Total Control, so I am oblivious to the classic style.
Just starting to use classic, because most post patch sliders are using them.Comment

Re: mkharsh33's Sliders...Classic Hitting
Made one change to the original post: raised CPU Batting Contact from 70 to 75.
This now makes me pitch like a pitcher, creating walks in which I must delicately pitch around certain players. You'll need to move the ball around, change speeds, etc.
I played the Twins today (I was the Mariners). I gave up 13 hits and allowed 3 runs. I struck out 4 of their batters, but Fister was pitching and he's move of a finesse guy. I LOVED the way it now feels. This will be the set that I'll be starting my franchise with.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Wow! you must be really great at pitching or something. I had to move cpu contact to 55 because on the new rosters you have for teams everyone seems to have alot of power. It's all good though with the change to 55 its still realistic for me. I just wanted to say i enjoy your sliders alot and your rosters. Who's gonna be your team you start your franchise with? Im currently having one with the blue jays, I like the challenge of playing the sox and yanks and rays in the same division. Also the blue jays have a pretty nice squad in real life so it makes it a realstic challenge as well.Comment

Re: mkharsh33's Sliders...Classic Hitting
The new rosters/patch have changed things a bit - especially in the hitting department. I was blowing out teams every game, 11-2, 8-0, but I didnt check back to these yet. Looks like I need to raise AI contact alot (its at 60 now) and reduce human contact from 40 to 30.Comment

Does a higher "pither fatigue" slider make pitchers get tired faster or slower?Comment

Re: mkharsh33's Sliders...Classic Hitting
One more change (sorry!!). Noted in post #1...
Lowered pitching fatigue from 60 to 55. It seems like once a pitcher starts to tire he gives up hits in succession. I'm able to get hits too easily now. So I'm going to see how this works. I'd hate to lower human batting contact, but that might be a possibility (I'm already down to 30). I'm also toying with the idea of raising the pitch speed by 5...
But I'll try this and go from there...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

I couldnt have AI contact at anything over 65 - anything higher and they hit everything near the strike zone and its no fun.Comment

Re: mkharsh33's Sliders...Classic Hitting
Two things...
I'm lowering CPU batting contact back down to 75. As noted, they swing at everything. I was able to strike out 4 with Strasburg, but gave up 14 hits - but only 3 runs (against Cleveland - Sunday's potential matchup vs. Huff).
Also, I'm finding User batting contact at 30 too easy. I'm getting 12-14 hits per game. So I'm lowering it to 25.
Here's my frustration with this game (that's really starting to take away the fun): When I lower the CPU contact back down I find that, though I still give up a few hits, I don't give up any RUNS. But it's also no fun to watch a crap team get 14-18 hits, but still fail to produce any offense.
Once again, this game is just too broken to enjoy. Once you get the controls down (and timing) it's starts to lose its luster, which is how I feel about every sports video game I've ever played (for the most part).

Re: mkharsh33's Sliders...Classic Hitting
I've played 7 games as the Braves with cpu contact at 75 and my contact at 30. I played the Phillies for 3, the Mets for 3, and the Cardinals for one so far. In those 7 games, I've given up 86 hits. That's 12.2 a game. In the majors, teams get between 7.5-9.5 hits a game. But I've only given up 1.28 walks a game, and teams tend to draw between 2.33 and 4.6 walks a game. So that's between 10-14 baserunners a game, and I'm just over 13. So that's not too bad. The thing that concerns me though, is I only have 23 k's in 7 games (3.3 a game). The team with the least K's in baseball (the Indians) still get 5.3 k's a game. The Giants get 8 a game! So all that said, I think I'm dropping cpu contact some. Part of the problem is the cpu gets too many singles but not enough extra base hits. I think a solution to this may be to up baserunner speed a couple ticks to help them get more extra base hits, but also move fielder speed up a tick to take care of a lot of those infield singles.
Offensively, I've got 68 hits in 7 games, and 75 k's in that span. So I can't really handle lowering contact anymore. I may have to raise it a bit. I'm increasing the cpu's fielder speed to compensate, and I have more baserunning speed now, so hopefully I can leg out a few more doubles.Comment
