Yes... But are they automatic ? you just press the button ? do u have the use the left stick ? I mean, on a 3-2 count... The AI decides if i want to really try to hit or try to foul the ball ?

I've found that you don't need to use the left stick. What I really like about Classic Hitting is that the ball and bat physics completely determine where the ball is hit (fair/foul). So if it's 3-2 and I'm trying to foul off a pitch, I really need quick judgement based on location/speed/type of pitch to decide whether to swing or take and try to draw a walk.

I'm really thinking in give a chance to the classic hitting.

The only thing that i dislike it's the fact that you don't decide wether it's a power swing or not. You have more risk with the right stick swing....

With total control I play with the contact around 30-35.. testing this with some combinations of cpu pitch success(PS) and SZ tendency.... What do u think about 35 contact with (PS) 80 and SZ tendency 45 ?

Just played 2 games with this set, way too many user hits.
Game one Yanks at Red Sox I was the Yanks and had 21 hits in a 7-4 win.
Game 2 I was the Reds at home vs the Brewers and had 20 hits in a 8-4 win.

Definitely Classic Hitting is much better. After getting used to... U see that what relly matters it's your timing.

The ball and bat Physics really looks great. Also the player rating counts a lot.. And the thing that i was worried about, the defensive swing really works great.

I'm using the combination 40/70 and looks solid. I like pitch speed at 80 and CPU pitcher with the combination 80/45 for succes and SZ tendency.

I just finished a strange game Yankees(me) x Royals. Hughes x Francis.

I won 15 x 0 with with 10 singles 5 doubles 1 triple and 3 HR.

The Strange thing it's that Francis had a complete game with 154 pitches...

His Stamina went 0 in the 5th around the 90 pitches.. but he goes all the way... Maybe a Bug with the Royals....Cause every other pitcj gets out when gets tired...

New update - page 1 / post 1. In the 3 games I played the scores were 5-3 loss, 6-4 win and an 11-2 win.

I'll admit that I get a bit jumpy when at bat and swing at a few bad pitches.

After the latest update I'm also toying with trying user (only) batting contact at 45. But I want to see how well I play. I scored the 11 runs with Philly and the 3 runs as Cleveland. Noticeable difference with various teams. I used Cole Hamels in the 11-2 win and struck out 4 and walked 3. To me, the user and CPU pitching is perfect. If you're wanting a lot of strikeouts you may not like the pitching settings. If so, just raise the user pitcher control slider.

I thought that the only thing that pitcher Control effected was the control the pitcher has while making pickoff attempts. Can you confirm somewhere that this isn't the case?

play 3 games using the update and tell me if you can't see a NOTICEABLE difference. trust me... you will now have to work for your K's... but it's fun and rewarding. all the discussion at bigfnjoe's slider thread that has taken place is verifying this... we are led to believe that was an error on 2k's end.

I have found some answers on this since posting, and it seems you are correct. Which I am very happy and excited to try tonight when I get home. I find it way to easy to pitch now and rarely walk anybody unintentionally. I am hoping that lowering this will make it more difficult and make actually finding a high control pitcher more rewarding.

A “Pitcher Control” slider is one of several new difficulty sliders that we added to the game this year. Through the Pitcher Control slider, you can change the concept of control to be more or less challenging. This new slider will allow you to customize the pitching experience to your liking. This is a sensitive slider that will make it noticeably easier or harder to throw strikes.

one small update. lowered both user and cpu batting contact to 45. i can walk guys now, but i'm finding K's hard to come by. i don't want to mess with the pitching sliders because I LOVE the challenge they now provide. but by lowering the contact there should now be a good variety of hits, popups and strikeouts.

MLB Today game I just finished. You might just have me converted over to CLASSIC hitting.

Lowered contact on both sides seems like a solid idea though.

Great sliders, man. I think you found the perfect balance for the CPU hitting, and I love the fact that the CPU actually hits homers. I like having to fear the AI hitters, but yet I can still get them to strike out too, so it feels like a real battle....and you nailed it with 45 contact and 100 power.

new updates. changes in red.

lowered user batting contact down to 30. With power at 75 this provides a nice blend of hit types.

changed up the user fielding sliders. i still find fielding way too easy...

hopefully these work out for those who enjoy classic hitting.

These sliders are perfect man. Classic hitting makes this game 10x better.
