    Well tried a few games pitching for both teams control at 30 and composure at 50. Very good results I palyed today's games dodgers 4x2 pirates and yankees 6x2 orioles.

    Kershaw 7k 1 BB 4 hits x Correia 6k 2 BB 8 hits
    Garcia 5k 3 BB/ 6 hits x Chen 5K 4 BB 8 hits

      I haven't messed with PitchBreakInfluence at all this year, but did quite a bit when trying to lock down adjustments to your sliders for CPUvCPU games in 2k11.

      Here's what I wrote about it last year in the cpuVcpu thread when everyone felt there were excessive Ks: "As for strike outs, another way to go about it is to lower PITCH BREAK INFLUENCE. The slider effects how fooled the batter gets by breaking balls and changes in speed, potentially having a great effect on K's.

      The thing that stands out to me about this is that it can have this great effect on strike outs while having no direct effect on weather or not a pitcher successfully executed his pitch (PITCH SUCCESS), nor to some degree the batter executing his swing(CONTACT).

      You keep lowering PITCH SUCCESS and I think all you really end up telling the game is to have the pitcher fail at executing his intended pitch 8 out of 10 times, or whatever its set at. That excessive failure could lead to less strikeouts, but probably leads to increased offense, rattled pitchers, extended innings etc as well."

      Again, I haven't messed with this in 2k12 at all yet....but, I think if you're looking for the CPU to strike you out more you should look at raising CPU PitchBreakInfluence. What I think happens from a User standpoint is that the higher the slider is raised the greater the influence player ratings (Eye, Contact,pitch type, break etc) have to actually supersede your well timed button press.

      Visually there is no change in the break of the pitches, just the ability of non-fastball pitches to "Influence" your batter.

            I played more with pitcher speed 70 and I definately see a difference in hits, not so much variety but the speed of grounders most notably. When it was at 75 I felt it was way too easy to hit into double plays but at 70 it feels just right

              Well i didn't like... Too many pop outs... The trajectory of the ball it's very strange.. This when i'm at bat... When I'm Pitching... i felt that the ball response was too random...

                Let's try this some more... Changes in RED. I am tired of the outfielder warping animations. It's that rushed animation at the point of making the catch that average-to-below-average outfielders are making, even those with 70-ish speed. So the running game has been tweaked to compensate (baserunning speeds, infielder throw speeds, and cpu catcher throwing power). If you don't like these tweaks, then just look the other way. But I think the 70 pitch speed is where this game needs to be...and the outfielders will still play well, just separates some of the speedier ones a bit. baserunning speed must be toned down slightly to accommodate for this...which in turn effects the infielder throw speed and cpu catcher arm power... Hope this makes sense.

                  If you're seeing too many cpu walks (I don't - but I swing at some bad pitches), just raise the cpu AI Strike Zone Tendency up to 45.

                  The cpu has had a 5 increase in Pitch Break Influence (to make user batting a bit more difficult) so you might need to tweak that if you're seeing a number of walks.

                    I will post a typical game for me using your sliders. The only things I changed are user contact to 35 and user base running speed to 45, since I am to bad to get steals with 40. I was the Tigers. I didn't alter those teams til now, they were as given by 2k in their 4/4 official 2k-roster.

                    I think upping the CPU pitch break should be no bad idea, because when I play with lower contact and worse hitting teams than the Tigers (e.g. Athletics, Orioles, Giants, Dodgers) I am unable to make more than 4-5 hits on average.

                    But what seriously needs a change IMO is your CPU hit n run tendency and the base stealing aggression.
                    It is very freaky when Adam Lind starts to steal...
                    Perhaps you should lower it to 30-40. The steal of Bautista came at 40. Then I drove it down to 30. I know that at 30 only the really fast players will steal.

                      Ignorance is bliss. I don't know the ins and outs of baseball yet, so some of the things your guys are bothered by, I'm not really seeing or paying attention too. I used the sliders about 3 sets ago and was getting some good games. I got balls out by the warning tracks, home runs, singles, and doubles. I got a lot of foul tips and was still able to get walked.

                      I feel like, as mentioned before, you all keep trying to get this game down perfect, it won't happen. It won't happen with any game. Especially if doing to one slider, means you have to adjust two to three other sliders. Unless there's a unanimous decision by you guys, I think I'm just going to stick w/ the ones I've been using.

                        IMHO, the game plays better with more realistic ball physics using the 70 pitch speed instead of the 75. But, with that change comes some needed updates in other areas. It doesn't frustrate me because testing is part of this. I worked with NBA 2K11 for over a year and a half before I found a set I liked, and in some cases, I had to test extreme (ie. help defense at 0 and help defense at 100 - you can see how that would really change the entire game make-up an effect other sliders).

                        If anyone is happy where they're at, just ignore all this. But I still believe we can find them, it just takes some more test games to get there. I'm not bothered by this at all...

                          Sure.. We have to test until we see a slider that make us confortable to play with...I mean a slider that gives good stats, realistic gameplay and some odd plays... We will never give up. Searching fot the holy sliders...

                            I was reading some threads and a lot of people that let a lot of sliders on all star default and change other things... When comes to my mind... The cpu steal agression at 60, a lot of people complain that some slow runners try to steal, but you have to keep in mind that this slider was designed to play with others sliders combined like catcher arm strenght, cpu baserunnig speed that all together work well and slow runners can steal... So when we make slider we have to keep in mind how that number, combined with the other ones that it was designed to work with.

                            So We need to test a lot before take conclusions. I say that a good test it's to play pitching or batting for both teams for at least 3 times...And one thing that i really starting to feel it's that Human pitch speed was designed to play at 60.

                              I like the progress Mk is making with the sliders, I was concerned about pitch speed 70 didnt think it would make a big difference from 75 but I do believe it plays better that way, has fixed too many double plays and added a little though not major hit variety. Its hard for me to give much input as im playing infrequently and for the most part just hitting. I also am adjusting the sliders to my own personal play level/style to make as much a challenge as possible while keeping the numbers at MLB league averages, I think after the base set is all set i may post what im using.

                              I wish as MK says that you could set sliders by 1s and not just 5s. I don't like seeing some of the missed throws the CPU makes for errors at CPU Throwing Error 50, but if you set it to 45 then you see many games with no errors.

                              Im using everything set to what MK has except User hitting 20/55, CPU Pitch success 85, CPU Pitching composure 0 and Outfield Throw Speed 65. I was finding tagging up a bit too easy for me, I like how the game feels with throw speed at 65 going first to third isnt automatic with every player, the slow guys you need to really decide whether you wanna risk it or not, and you see some plays at the plate every now and then, and triples are rare as they should be (MLB avg 0.20 per team per game) I was worried id see guys getting thrown out at first base from balls hit shallow to right field but I havent seen that in many games played.

                              Very happy with double plays after the newest changes they feel just right from the user hitting side and thats the side that bothered me before.

                              I personally use 20 contact 55 power for user along with 0 CPU composure and find a good balance between challenge and realisim. I saw fouls balls and pitches per at bat mentioned so I thought id look up the numbers.

                              pitches per PA is about 3.7
                              foul balls per PA is around .60

                              (not exact just estimating but should be a good barometer) http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/ar...res-the-pitch/ I also know each team averages around:

                              4.3 runs scored
                              1.8 doubles
                              0.20 triples
                              1 Home run
                              8.5 hits
                              7 strikeouts
                              3 walks
                              0.8 double plays

                              thats for each team from the 2011 season and I get relatively close to those numbers against 2 and 3 rotation starters.

                              For stolen bases I had felt the CPU would steal in dumb situations and a little too often, giving me an easy out making the CPU offense less of a threat. I have left it alone but keep in mind the MLB average steal ATTEMPT per team per game is 1.

                                Changes in RED. First off, MANY THANKS to Mickeyknoxx...his idea regarding user pitch speed at 60 might be a gem of a find. Tried this today and really like it. Some more changes noted, but I think the slider adjustments we're making are starting to piece together. The only concern I now possibly see (since user pitch speed is lowered to 60 AND user OF speed is now 10) is that CPU batting power might have to come down to 85. If you guys could try some test games with cpu batting power at 90 and then at 85 it would be helpful for all of us. But again, I'm liking the look and sim-feel of these!
