Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching

I put CPU batting at: Contact- 55 and Power-75.
I give up a hr about every other game. Sometimes twice a game. Sometimes every game for a few games.
    Works well for me.
My user batting, however is at: Contact- 30, and power- 65.
I swing a lot..almost at everything. So I don't see a ton of homers from me. But enough to give accurate values

^^ Good post... This is the kind of stuff we're talking about. You've taken the base set, but tweaked them because you're swing happy.

One bit of advice: I can tell based upon your comments about cpu contact and power that you're NOT pitching OUTSIDE the zone enough, letting your pitches work for you. It takes the "fear factor" out of the game when you do this. I want to be scared to death to pitch to a slugger, and I want to think hard about how to pitch to an 88 rated contact guy. I think the cpu 75 contact / 95 power really brings those battles to life, so give it another shot and do some practice time with your use of the pitching gestures.

Random question here...For Pitching Composure, if the slider moves to 100 that means the more frequent a pitcher loses composure?

Yeah...and you don't want to go that high. LOL!!

But the higher you take it the more impact it has on the pitcher.

Appreciate the kind words! I think I can finally say this is my "final" pre-patch set. After all the test games and feedback, this looks like the best we'll get. in reading other slider sets at OS, it seems like we're ALL in a relatively close agreement on our sliders (with some slight adjustments). Hope you enjoy them...

funny because I just started to pitch outside of the zone a lot more so my starters would tire faster. I'll test your base set for CPU contact and power and see how it goes.

Edit: and I assume there won't be a 2K12 patch until May. Just because of the perfect game challenge. If they release a patch that fixes things, it gives an unfair advantage to the post-patch perfect gamers. Just my thought. You have a long way to tweak things before a patch comes rolling in.

Mk should I raise or lower pitcher fatigue if I want pitchers to tire faster.

Don't mean to hijack your question for mk but in my testing the pitcher fatigue bar has nothing to do with how fast or slow a Pitcher tires, it only has an effect on pitches thrown when the pitcher is close to his pitch cap... Meaning for example if its set at 100 you will see no control and a huge loss of speed on tired pitchers resulting in lots of walks and fat hanging pitches, on 0 they will throw as if every pitch is at 100 energy, the pitch cap will remain the same regardless, even for the description in the settings it says it's for how much fatigue effects the pitch for user and CPU

I read some good things about your sliders, so I decided to give them a try. I played the Reds vs Nats and I was the Nats. With Edwin Jackson pitching, he didn't get past the 3rd inning. Reds scored 2 quick runs in the 1st, on a walk and 2 doubles, then in the 3rd Jay Bruce hits a 3 run homer to blow it open. Each reliever I used thereafter was scored on, in a 13-0 rout. Reds had 14 hits after 6 innings and finished with 20 for the game. I could only muster 4 hits with the Nats with Homer Bailey pitching for the Reds. I hope that these sliders allow for some 8-5 or 10-9 type games as well as 1-0 or 3-1 scores. I like variety in scores and not a lot of blowouts. I will give these the benefit of doubt since it was my first time using them. Next game I play, I will report the results, with a better ending I hope.

This could be a HUGE find. I didn't know this before as I was believing it would be the first way you told us. But when it is like you said afterwards perhaps this could have an impact on the AI switching pitchers more frequently.

Seems like I'm seeing a ton of deep pop ups. I'm playing with the Phillies. Meanwhile the CPU seems to always hot between the gaps to get on base. Wtf? Am I doin something wrong at bat?

At first it was the same for me. You will need some time to adjust to the sliders and get better at hitting and pitching. That's all IMO.

Yea, I'm going through something similar. My biggest issue is timing. I either swing too early or too late. It's taking some time, but I am adjusting.
