All I gotta say is please Paulie, dont leave. Its hard to replace 40 dingers and 100 RBIs in a lineup. I pray that Williams pays him whatever he wants. He's basically the franchise right now.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Oh well, guess who'll be in a Yankee uni next year?

The only person I really want the Yanks to push is Juan Pierre because they would make a ton of sense for the lineup, with him leading off and Jeter going back to #2.
What other 1B are available besides Konerko this season? Is Aubrey Huff a FA?Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

I thought the Yanks bought all they're pennants and chamionships??
BTW, beware, I've watched Paulie for a while now. When dude goes on a cold streak, he's really freaking cold. I mean pop out and double play cold. Just something for teams to consider. He may bring in a guaranteed 40 and 100 but who knows how a change of place might effect him.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Has George tried since 2000 by waving cash at every guy out there...sure.
Has it succeeded...absolutely not. The guys he got weren't meant to hit in October. Plus, he somehow forgot that these guys do get older and aren't going to produce at the same level as before.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Paulie Konerko
I think Konerko will stay along with almost every player on the team. As you saw this year, its all about chemistry and I know for a fact that neither Kenny Williams nor Ozzie would want to break up this team.
The only 2 players I can see leaving would be Damasao Marte or Vizcaino via a trade. They have been the only 2 pitchers that havent been effective, and Marte has been a problem to the team.
Also, with the emergence of Jenks as the closer, Hermanson is now the middle reliever, along with Cotts and Polite being the setup men.Comment

Never Said anything about the City of Toronto being bad, i have been there myself and know what kind of city it is. It's just that its not often you hear someone say, You know what, Toronto is on the top of my list of places to go. Never said anything about the US dollar is better than the canadian dollar either. So go cry about it.
Some players do want to go to Toronto or stay there. A perfect example is Halladay. He signed a long term deal and loves the city of Toronto.
As for Konerko, I see him staying with the White Sox. He's probably going to pull in a 52mil/4 yr contract.Comment

Whether doesn't really play a huge factor, at least not for Baseball players as it does for Hoopstars. I know in the NBA, so many players don't want to play in cold whether cities. But really, the whether in Toronto is no worse than what you'll see in Chi-Town, Minnesota, Boston and most of the northeast.Comment

For those that do, I couldn't imagine weather being too much of a factor, since the weather is just dandy during the majority of the season.Favorite Teams:
NBA: Houston Rockets
NFL: Tennessee Titans
MLB: Chicago White Sox
NCAA: Florida State Seminoles

Originally posted by camulosWinning a WS can wreak havoc on team chemistry. All of a sudden you have an entire team of players who think they're underpaid. I don't think Konerko has any strict loyalty to the White Sox since he's not from that area. I'm not sure who his agent is, but if they're halfway decent Konerko will sign with whoever pays him the most money, which I doubt will be the White Sox.
And honestly, if Paulie wants to leave because of the $$, then so be it. But just remember, that we also have all that money from Frank Thomas, who either will take a paycut, or just be cut in general. All that money will be used to resign Paulie and anybody else whos in their last year of their contract.
Also El Duke, as good as he is, may not be back next season due to the emergence of Brandon McCarthy. Hes, I think owed 6-7 million. So believe me, the Sox will have plenty of money to go around.Comment

BTW jack Morris, Dave Winfield and Paul Molitor all wanted to come to Toronto. That was only 12-13 years ago. Things run in cycles, 20 years ago no one wanted to go to Seattle and Cleveland.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
