His arm is weak, but his release and accuracy is right on point. So that does help a lot. The ball was right there, sure it could have been there faster, but it still a perfect throw! And in his prime I have witness a lot of great throws from Bonds!

Originally posted by BlzerYou know when Pujols will become a better player in my eyes? When he ends up hitting more home runs than striking out (and it's gotta be at least 40+ home runs, I'd say), or when he wins a few Gold Gloves at his position (a reason why many people believe that Ortiz did not deserve MVP was because he was a DH... I believe that a non-superb defensive 1B is just the same thing, meaning they are only there because they aren't much better at anything else) He used to be at 3B... what happened? Don't say that Rolen happened. Let's just say that now Pujols has time to become an offensive juggernaut now. Bonds only does because his knees can't handle what he used to do, which is another thing for Pujols... being able to steal bases.
Come on, Bonds is a 500/500 guy (well, actually... 700/500). Pujols is a two-tool player. Bonds at his peak was a five-tool easily, and now probably a 3 1/2 - tool.
Pujols is hardly just a 2 tool player. He hits for average, hits for power, runs slightly above average (16 SB's last year) and fields his position well despite playing many different positions in his short career.
Pujols actually switched around from LF to 3B early in his career and obviously now is at 1B. He's played 309 games in the outfield, 1 at SS, 96 at 3B and 433 at 1B. Yes Rolen forced the move because Rolen is a Gold Glove 3B.
Barry never had a strong throwing arm. Even in his heyday in Pittsburgh. He did have a fairly accurate arm though. Unless the 2 surgically repaired knee'd Sid Bream was trying to score from 2B on a hit to LF.Comment

And joeboo, apparently from what you're saying... if you like the team, you like the player (and vice versa). Well, I'm happy that Snow is gone. Everybody in the world loves Snow, and I just really don't see it. I'm sorry. Anyway, Bonds was on your team, correct? What did you think of him? Did you like him? Do you not like him now because of his steroid usage or something? If he was still on your team, are you saying that you would think differently?
Also, once a Hall of Famer, always a Hall of Famer. That is what I believe it should be. If Bonds was once considered (in your eyes) a Hall of Famer after retirement, and all of the sudden started becoming a steroid freak, he would no longer be a Hall of Famer?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I have never, ever heard one baseball person say anything other than that's his weak point, he's horrible throwing.Comment
