That is funny coming from a White Sox fan, considering they (not saying he was) would get very angry and defensive when the same thing was mentioned about their team last year.

Shelton will come back around. He's a legitimate threat to go opposite field every time he's up. I think he got caught up in the power, he needs to just go with the pitches.

The Tigers pitching is so unbelievable right now that I am sure that won't last. Hopefully the team starts hitting like they can and did against Minnesota then we won't have to rely on the starters giving up 1 or less runs a game to win.

Do you realize that the Tiger starting pitching has given up 3 runs in the last 6 games? Its Crazy.............

Yah, all 5 starters have an ERA under 4.00 right now. I think its safe to say that won't hold up. I don't think they'll collapse on the scale that the Orioles did last year but I still don't think this is a playoff team.

              Stats as of May 14th: .313, 11HR, 22RBI, 22R, 1.041 OPS.

              On pace for: 48HR, 96RBI, 96R

His pace really slowed from his hot start, but in his last three games, he is 6 for 12, (2 hits in each game), 3R, 1 DB, 1 HR, 1RBI. Nothing special, but he might get back to playing better than he has.

My prediction, if healthy, was .300, 30 HR, 90 RBI. I still think he will do it.

Update, the Tigers Starters have an ERA after tonight of 3.20, the next closest is the White Sox with 4.10 for their starters. 7th shutout of the year tonight. It appears that when Shelton cooled off, Mags heated up. Hopefully, they can keep this going.

They have an unbelievable stretch starting late may going well into to June when they play the White Sox and the cram of the AL east. That will be the test. If they are still going strong after June 15th, they may be for real.

Considerable dropoff by Shelton so far...

From .326, 10 HR, 20 RBI, .783 SLG in April; to .245, 1 HR, 5 RBI, .347 SLG in May. Ouch.

                              Time for another Shelton update:

                              As of June 26th, .274, 14 HR, 35 RBI, 37 R

                              On pace for: .274, 33 HR, 97 RBI, 104 R

                              April: .326, 10 HR, 20 RBI, 17 R
                              May: .286, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 9 R
                              June: .200, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 11 R (3 games left in June)

Well, I think my prediction of .300/30/90 is still definately in reach, but if you take away the month of April, Shelton has not been hitting well at all.

I hope all that had him in their fantasy league got something good for him when they could, because right now, he is not worthy anything.
