Oh, wait until he starts saying he'd take any of the Yankees starting pitchers over Jake Peavy any day.

He throws 96-98....One of the best curveball's in the game and one of the best change-ups.

He attacks the hitters like Pedro and has incredible presence on the mound. He throws effortless.

And like the poster above said, he's not even allowed to throw his best pitch....his slider. It's Kerry Wood like.....which is why they won't let him.

He better not throw over 100 pitches, and obviously there's always that chance of injury.....

      Long live King Felix.

And, as I said, your panties are in a twist over what one Mariners fan has said and even these statements aren't remotely like what you're ascribing to "Mariners fans". No one, including keRplunk, has said that Felix is the best ever, will cure cancer, or deserves to be in the HOF at the age of 21. In fact, what I've been reading from most M's fans here is that Felix has great potential but has yet to prove himself. So if you want to get into a pissing match with keRplunk about his opinions about Felix then do it directly based on what he actually says instead of making up nonsensical crap that no one is saying and ascribing it to Mariners fans.

The truth is, I have said some things that were near hyperbolic when it comes to how good I think Felix is, most of them came during those 84 innings when he was 19. The Mariners were having another terrible season, and he was on his A+ game for most of those 84 innings. It was the only thing that made that season worth watching. And I was trying to get people talking about him.

My main premise was, a 19 year old kid shouldn't be able to do that. His stuff was legit, so by the time he's 21-23 years old...who knows where he would be. And thanks for actually looking that stuff up, good memories.

Oh, and what's funny, a couple years later...David Ortiz and Curt Schilling are saying things like I was...except they are even more superfluous.

Are you kidding me? We're talking about NL West. Trevor Hoffman had the advantage of pitching in a weak division. NL West was a joke, still is to this day. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes that explain 15 years of success. Don't tell me, he should have been covering Tennessee's WR better.

You really going to act like this wasn't another troll attempt with a straight face.

Just admit it, you're as big a homer as they come. Nothing wrong with that of course, but it makes you look a bit foolish when you try to appear unbiased.

I haven't backtracked an inch. You didn't provide a single quote that backed up anything you claimed.

Are M's fans excited about the kid? Sure. Why wouldn't they be? Does Felix have the best stuff in the game? That's debatable, although some baseball people think he's close. What's not debatable is that he's the best pitcher ever or would never give up a hit or should be annointed to the HOF at this point in his career because no one is saying that. You're making that stuff up on your own.

Not to say Trevor is better than Rivera. As I said earlier, Rivera is the best that I have ever seen. (Gagne had the best season I have ever seen).

But to say Hoffman is overrated. Just some numbers

                            Hoffman Lifetime: ERA 2.70, Saves: 484, Blownsaves: 56, BAA: .207, K/9: 9.80, BB/9: 3.87. OPS: .597

                            Rivera: ERA. 2.30, Saves: 413, Blown Saves: 55, BAA: .213, K/9: 7.99, BB/9: 3.45, OPS: .558

Don't see how Hoffman is overrated.

Felix is the best pitching prospect since Doc Gooden. I was trying to make that very clear to people.

I felt at the time he was going to be the best pitcher in the game at some point. I still do. I'm not sure exactly when that will happen. At this point I'm waiting, I'm hoping he's going to fulfill his potential this year. And yes, I feel like he has the best stuff in the game.

"you're as big a homer as they come."

That's laughable. I have been a bit biased at times though, like anyone.

When it comes: Ken Griffey Jr. (One of the greatest players ever) , Shawn Kemp (in his prime could outplay Karl Malone), Koren Robinson (I really thought he was going to turn the corner) , Superbowl XL (enough said) , Mariners 95' (just an amazing season).

                                I'll think up some more.

But at this point, there really aren't many players that I'm behind in the Seattle sports scene.

The Mariners and Sonics are poorly constructed. And Matt Hasselbeck made some decisions in that Bears game that I still can't believe, they are getting old, and probably only have one more shot at getting back.
