Re: Why doesn't anyone talk about Roger Clemens and steroids?
Haven't read the entire thread, but with Clemens vehemently denying it, if I were him I would blow the Mitchell Report out of the water. Simply step to the mic and say, "I will take a lie detector test".Comment

Pete Rose before these bums.
How isn't this thread racially motivated?
Only reason Bonds got the attention was because he broke the greatest records of all time. Give me a break.Last edited by HungryBologna; 12-14-2007, 08:23 PM.Comment

That's why he won't take one. If my reputation was on the line for the rest of my years I'd do the thing on live t.v. Take that Georege Mitchell! End of story.
But, I think you're right. Let's face it, this isn't shocking news, or shouldn't be, to anyone.Comment

Well if you juice up as a pitcher doesn't change your motion which in turn should hurt your arm. I think thats how it goes. I remember hearing about what happened when you juiced up as a pitcher and I remembered it ending up with a hurt arm.Comment

Funny how everyone that even mentioned Clemens taking roids would get flamed. I remember myself talking about how Clemens is as guilty as Bonds, and I was treated like a heretic. This whole thread was plagued with people absolutely ripping Ballaholic... bet they all feel like idiots, and rightfully so.Comment

Re: Why doesn't anyone talk about Roger Clemens and steroids?
In comparison with Barry Bonds, thats a whole different thing because he did admit it under oath, well, sort of. I don't think people have it against him because he is black as people keep pointing out, but it doesn't help him that he's a jerk like others have said. On the other hand, Clemens has rubbed a lot of fan bases the wrong way too, and he still is well liked for some reason. I guess the only way he would EVER get completely tainted is if he comes out himself and says that he juiced. Otherwise, people will continue to defend him to death more so than other players, because he is an important figure in baseball that a lot of people look up to.
In my opinion, it's very foolish to come out and say that he didn't do it and try to twist very far fetched opinions on why not. However, I can't honestly say he did even if people that were involved with him say it, because there's no tangible proof. Unless him and others are placed under a court of law to talk about this issue, then it will all remain speculative. But like I've been saying, it's foolish to dismiss these allegations as just lies, because it is evident that the number of players who did steroids is far greater than what it has been led to believe. So for Clemens, Bonds, McGwire, or even lesser known players, it's just not smart to favor them and say they didn't because they never tested positive, when the tests and the process of testing has been so weak and flawed for years. To me, no one is out of reach of the steroid cloud.Comment

Re: Why doesn't anyone talk about Roger Clemens and steroids?
At this point, we're all hypothesizing about who's taking and who isn't. No one knows for sure so why would someone feel foolish for believing a guy might not be doing 'roids/HGH? Anyone who claims they knew for sure that any player was using before any info came out is a liar.
I still don't think Clemens was on them when this topic was created. Like I said then, he had to pass a WBC Olympic style test. That's not easy to do. Now, was he on them in previous years? According to the Mitchell Report, yes he was. Sounds like he was using from the mid to late 90's until the early 00's.Last edited by mjb2124; 12-15-2007, 10:00 AM.Comment

Re: Why doesn't anyone talk about Roger Clemens and steroids?
At the time of this thread, there was tons of evidence on Bonds, none on Clemens. Now there's evidence for both, do you see anyone defending Clemens?
Good call by the original poster I guess, but I don't feel stupid for waiting until there was real evidence on Clemens to think he's on steroids.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
