And I was slammed like the Detroit Tigers. Let me just say that anybody in major league baseball is a candidate for using HGH, and only because it is not tested. Not saying that they all are, but that's why I asked that question in that thread. Notice that I didn't accuse Pujols directly, but I brought him up. Just because he's respected doesn't mean he's innocent.

But why are you singling out Albert. You never talk about the 3rd string leftfielder for the Royals taking steroids.

It seems as though you have something against Pujols. Jealousy, wishing he was on your team, I don't know. Maybe I am misinterpreting your posts and if so then I am sorry.

Albert may certainly have taken HGH, and if he did then I will give up on baseball. This man is my favorite baseball player and someone that I look up to. He is very humble and gives it his all. He is the definition of a team player and if it is true about him taking HGH then I will be devistated.

I think it has to do with the fact the Albert is the man now! And everybody wants to think if you are hitting HR you have to be on something. I don't know, but he could have taken something when he was younger. I hope not, but you never know!

Well then I guess you should make the "assumption" that Ryan Howard, Carlos Lee, Alfonso Soriano, and all the other big homerun hitters now, are on steriods. I just don't understand why you single Pujols out unless you have something against the guy.

Why not? Whats wrong with it?

Kids are always going to look up to athletes. Its just the way it is.

And what is wrong with a person liking one athlete more than another?

We all imitate them. At least those that play sports video games do and also those that play sports in recreation. There's nothing wrong with "looking up" or admiring an athlete. At least not in my opinion.

Why? Does looking up to a baseball player make me less of a person?

I look up to Albert Pujols not only because of what he does on the field, but because he is a very humble and genuinly nice guy. He also is a team player which is hard to come by not only in sports, but in other areas of life.

But I guess those aren't qualities you look for in a role model these days.

You set yourself for dissapointment when you look up to athletes. People put them on this throne as if they are gods, but I'd bet most of them really don't give a damn about you. I'd rather look up to someone who's actually important in the world and makes a real difference, not someone who swings a bat and shoves syringes up his *******.

I guess if I were to look up to athletes, it would be guys like Warrick Dunn, Zo Morning. People who use the fact that they have a great gift to make the world better. Corny, maybe, but that's how I feel.

I think it goes back to the fact, there are good and bad apples in every profession. You just have to use some discretion in terms of which ones you look up to. I mean shoot, some people only have charities so they can write it off on their taxes, and some don't even give the money to the people the charity is supposed to be for.
