Kearns = 26 years old, former 1st round pick. .274, 16 HR, 50 RBI, .843 OPS at the break.

    Lopez = 26 years old, .268, 9 HR, 30 RBI, 55 R, 23 SB. (Last year finished with .291, 23, 85, 97, 15)

Wagner = 23 years old, former 1st round pick. 8-4 with 26 holds and a 4.69 ERA (62 ER/119.0 IP) in 108 games spanning three big league seasons. Currently in Triple A.

    In exchange for:

Majewski = 26 years old, reliever. Career 3.27 ERA, 1.38 ERA

Bill Bray = 23 years old, former 1st round pick (2004). Only has 19 career games as a reliver.

Royce Clayton = 50 years old, (36), shouldn't be starting in the majors.

Brendan Harris = 26 years old, former fifth round pick. 2B/3B, 32 ABs this season.

What a deal for the Nationals.

Still the More I think about it, It may not be that bad for the Reds..I believe they could of got somethin a little better then this But Besides the total Letdown at SS they will get , Even tho Royce Average is not terrible this year It will give them a chance to hopefully Start Ryan Freel full time.

atleast the Bullpen should of got a bit better, Looks like there hoping they can make a run now for sure giving up Kearns and Wagner

Now the Nationals have a four man outfield...does that mean Soriano is on the way out?

And for the Reds, does Freel become the starting RF? And what about this Harris kid?

May not be that bad? So they add a few arms to the pen, nothing special, and downgrade at SS, RF, and Utility. Instead of having Lopez, Kearns and Freel at those three positions, they now have Clayton, Freel, and scrubs. That is a downgrade at three positions, to add a few bullpen arms?

You really think Giles is better than Chipper?

Well I agree with that, I dont think it was a smart deal or that good of a deal for the Reds. Im just trying to wonder why they did it and Im thinking they must be playin Freel in RF now and Hoping 2 more good arms will help them. I know That Royce Clayton is not that good, But Itz not like Felipe Lopez is some Superstar, Im not sure if he will have another good season like he did ...But still I think Lopez for Clayton part was definatly the worse Part of the deal. I think if itz Kearns and Wagner for the 2 pitchers and 1 of the Minor leaguers Itz a much better deal for the Reds

The Reds did one thing strengthen their bullpen for the FUTURE... not now... I see this as a give up move for the Reds IMO.

Well I guess that explains it, I also hate him when he gets hurt so hopefully that does not happen again.

Hopefully a few more trades keep coming soon

WTF?! I thought the ownership in Cincy were trying to win not throw it all away. That has to be one of the worst trades in YEARS. What a way to send a message to the players and fans in Cincy. If I were a Reds fan i'd be one PO'ed guy right now.

As a Reds fan, though, I was equally PO'ed watching their bullpen blow 5 or 6 games over the past 2 weeks heading into the break. Regardless of who they lost, its nice to have bullpen help.

Right now, I don't know how I feel. I mean, Kearns has been putting up his best numbers in a while this year, but his strikeout total was starting to rival that of Adam Dunn. Lopez I thought was great, even though his numbers dropped off a bit.
