We've got a couple lefties in there presently... right now, the rotation sets up like this:

    Smoltz
    Hudson
    Hampton
    James
    Davies

Wouldn't mind having one more solid starter, but not too bad

Personally I think this deal is great...I think Soriano has a huge upside and could be a dominant arm out of the bullpen. I think are Rotation is set as it is and we needed to get something out of Ramirez. If we can add one more good arm to this bullpen and add that Boyer is gonna be good next year wer are gonna be a good team next year.

yeah I think it's great too. I just liked having HoRam in the rotation (better him leave than Huddy ). I had just forgotten about Hampton. If Hampton plays well this year, I don't think I'll miss HoRam at all.

I'm anxious to see what happens with Giles. I like Giles and hate to see him go, so I hope we get someone real for him.

Yea I see what your sayin then...I also like Horacio and always said this guy is gonna be a stud one day but he just kept getting hurt. Personally Im not so excited for Kyle Davies but Maybe he proves me wrong. I think if Hampton is healthy he will be great and move into our #2 starting spot unless Mr. Hudson learns how to pitch again.

I hope if we do trade Giles we get something out of him..and if we trade laroche and Giles we better atleast get 1 starter for 2b or 1b to make up for it..Playing Scott Thorton and Aybar will just not be that good of a thing in my opinion, Playing one of them and having a lead off man at 2nd base tho would be fine.

Rule 5 draft was just done:

only "big" name was Josh Hamilton - plucked by the Cubs from TB, only to be traded to the Reds

The Cardinals and Tigers are both interested in signing Barry Bonds, according to ESPN.

I hate Bonds. I hope the Cards don't sign him.

First the Cowboys signed Terrell Owens. If the Cards do this then two of my favorite teams will have just landed two of my most hated players.

That being said, if he was a Cardinal I would probably root for him. Having Pujols and Bonds back to back in the line-up would be scary.

Agree I don't really want Bonds on the Cardinals, if we get him I don't see myself cheering for him (although in reality I'm sure I would eventually come around to him) but as you said Pujols and Bonds back to back in the lineup would be amazing.

Rafi is a very good setup man. He doesn't throw with the same velocity as he used to, but he'll get it up to 92-93, even 94 on occasion. He gets away with throwing a ton of fastballs because it has so much movement on it.

He'll mix in a decent slider. Its still developing, but can be effective. He's been working on a changeup as well, but in all honesty its brutal. He slows down his arm action telegraphing it.

He's a converted outfielder whose had arm durability issues almost every season. The M's were getting ready to shut him down last fall as well, but the line drive off the head pretty much shut him down instead. I'm sad to see him go because of all the potential he has.

The M's had the 2nd best bullpen in baseball last fall and now its in shambles thanks to Lowes possible career ending injury and Soriano being traded. I pray this doesn't mean they move Mateo into the setup role.

Mariners acquire Sean White from Pirates
The official website of the Seattle Mariners with the most up-to-date information on news, tickets, schedule, stadium, roster, rumors, scores, and stats.

White, 25, was 5-6 with one save and a 4.40 ERA in 21 games last season with Double-A Mississippi. He was 0-3 with a 6.35 ERA in five starts for the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League, which is where the Mariners gained interest in him.
So he pitched like monkey poo in the fall league, and THEN we thought he would be good. I think I'm going to cry. One of the worst off-seasons ever in Seattle.
