Marlins grab the greatest catcher of all time

Pudge signed with the Florida Marlins today.

My favorite player is no longer a Ranger.

You can pretty much thank Arod for that, there is only enough salary for one superstar on that team. God forbid Arod defer some of his salary and the owners try to field a good team. He should have never left Seattle! A much better place to play and the ownership cares about winning! Wish my Reds knew how to win! Pudge is awesome and cannot be replaced, I feel your pain, rooting for any team in this the age of the free agent is rough! You need a sharkport to root for a team these days, just so you can download the starting lineup each day b/c that is how quick it changes!

Pretty Odd fit him signing with the Marlins. At this point in his career I would have thought he would want to go to a serious contender at this point in his career. I guess the Marlins blew him away with the offer, because nobody else was.

its a 1 year - 10 million dollar contract. I'm guessing he's not there long.

There is no way that he will be there for more than this year. I'm guessing he just signed with whoever was willing to shell out the most cash.

I predict he doesn't even stay the whole year. Some hot contender in need of a catcher will pick him up in July. I will miss Pudge though i loved seeing him in a Texas uni.

A no trade clause, a no arbitration clause.... he's trying to prove that he's healthy and going after the big bucks following next season. Smart move.

Knowing the Marlins, wouldn't be surprised to see them do a salary dump at the deadline.
