This wasn't a decision by Texas based on A-Rod's contract. Pudge has had injury problems, which almost all catchers do after 30. It may have been the right decision, but I still hate it. He's my favorite player of all time.

I will tell that to Johnny Bench look at that stats Piazza has better numbers. I have much respect for Johnny he is one of the best catchers that ever played the game, but hes not the best Piazza is and that's totally my option. Piazza defense is crap and I know that so I'll say it in a different way Mike Piazza is the best offensive catcher to ever play the game...I think that is very fair to say.Comment

Piazza is the best power hitting catcher to ever play. But you are right...his defense blows.
If I was picking a team, I'd start with Bench behind the plate. There is more to catching than homeruns. I can live with a homerun hitter and weak fielder at first or in the OF, but not behind the plate. My opinion of course...Comment
