Re: Mariners Meet With Zito
It's just like when Vlad chose Anaheim over the Yankees, and all of the Yankees fans swore up and down, the Yankees didn't really want him.
The thought that every player wants to play in NY, is ridiculous.Comment

Re: Mariners Meet With Zito
i'll admit, that given similar contract offers between sf and ny, zito probably would've ended up in the west coast. but to think that zito didn't even entertain the thought of moving east is ludicrous considering the amount of money that the mets were probably willing to offer.Comment

And duh, Yankees didn't salivate over Vlad. The back was the major issue..Comment

What are you going to refute that fact? It's was a common issue with anybody signing Vlad during that offseason.Comment

Re: Mariners Meet With Zito
Oh well, the Angels who have had the Yankees number anyway, ended up with a guy that completely eats up Yankee pitching. Could have been worse.Comment

LOL, and everyone else is the follower.
Classic.
BTW, smart move by the Yanks.
For the Angels Vlads averaged about 150 games per year, hit about .323 averaged 35 homers, and about 115 RBI's and 15 SB's per year.
The back problem excuse seems to be well founded.Comment

Re: Mariners Meet With Zito
If you believe the Yankees had no intention of signing him, I have a bridge to sell you. It does make Yankee fans feel better though since he preferred Anaheim.Comment
