    Re: Zito to...Giants!?

I was surprised to Zito make this move. Despite bein a surfer and verything ot on the west coast. I think his career would have benefitted from taking a few less millions to play for a team like the Mets. I thought all along that is where he was going to end up. Zito can be scary good at times, and scary bad for other stretches. But even when he is on, he is a victim of the longball. Moving from Oakland to San Fran will up his HRA. Where as Shea is a pitcher's park. At least he moved into the National League and will benefit from the affect of only having to pitch to about 7 and aa half legitimate hitters on most nights.

The last few years I think he just has consistancy problems with his mechanics. With the big looping curve, it can be difficult to get it into the strikezone, and quiet easy to hang one.

He also throws mid eighties. it is easier to adjust to a Deuce when you have those extra milliseconds to wait on the fastball.

With all that said, I really like Zito. He has been one of my favorite pitchers for years, but i don't see him returning to hic Cy Young form in San Fran, and i don't see him compiling a 20 win season with the inept offense he will have...of course that isn't much of a change from his days in Oakland.
