This sucks. I don't like watching games on my computer. I mean I'm not missing my team as I'm a Red Sox fan so I watch the games on NESN, but I used to watch west coast games late nights. This really irks me.

Isn't there also some sort of device that lets you watch/look at your pc monitor through your tv? That might be an idea...

ALSO: The article says that the MLB Extra Innings becomes exclusive to DirectTV starting in 2009, so there are still 2 years left.

ALSO: Direct TV has a SportsPackage Lineup that has over 30 channels per each region (FSN Midwest, West, SNY, YES, etc), so that may supplement those interested in MLB Baseball. I'm looking into moving to the West Coast, and wanted my fix of Mets, Knicks, and Yanks.

Kinda offtopic, which digital cable provider would you recommend: Comcast or DirectTV?

Yeah, you can get that sports package but you only see the games that are in your market. I live in Arkansas so the only games I would get were the Cardinasl, Astros, and Rangers. All others were blacked out which was fine with me because I usually just watch the Cards.

Yeah having the sports package with Direct TV does you no good when it comes to baseball. In live in the Cincy area and every game but the Reds games get blacked out.

Sorry, it doesn't say that. It says that the 24-hour Baseball Channel doesn't launch until 2009. It didn't say for sure when Extra Innings would switch over, but given MLB's penchant for negotiating everything at the last minute, I'll take this year to block, Wink.

Also, I dup posted this very same thing two minutes. Sorry to the orginnal poster.

I would have figured you would at least got the Cleveland Indians there. sucks when you only get one team.

Has the deal been officially signed? I heard today that they are still talking (rumored 7 yr, $700 mil deal)..

It hasn't been signed yet, InDemand is still fighting for it, but they're offer is way lower than Direct TV. I'm just wondering how Direct TV can continue to afford to pay these contracts with only 15 million sub's

I'd be losing it next year anyways since I'm going away for school. MLB.TV is a great service, if you havent checked it out already, you should.

Coverage includes audio and video clips, interviews, statistics, schedules and exclusive stories.

You really serious about the Sports Package from Direct TV???

I called them up on Sunday, and asked them if I signed up for the Sports Package, I would get all 30+ channels.

So, let's say, I move to Portland, OR in the Pac NorthWest. I would only be eligible for those FSNs that are in the zipcode area? I wouldn't be able to get SNY, FSN East, Midwest, etc or YES because it's blacked out??? That really sux...

If that's the case, then I guess Direct TV and MLB Extra Innings is the way to go...although another site from Sunday posted the deal would start in 2009, but I guess that's incorrect.

I just hope to get my Mets and Yanks fix and MLB Extra Innings from Direct TV will get the job done.

Anyone know if they do broadcast any of the bball games in HD? I'm sure that's an extra cost tacked onto the monthly subscription...

Unless MLB wants to come to my house and cut down my neighbor's trees, they've lost me as a customer.

Now I can't watch my Pirates... (not sure if I should be upset or should I thank MLB???)

You get those 30 or so channels but the games are blacked out that are out of the market you live in. The only way you see them on tv is Extra Innings
