This sucks. I don't like watching games on my computer. I mean I'm not missing my team as I'm a Red Sox fan so I watch the games on NESN, but I used to watch west coast games late nights. This really irks me.

Re: MLB Extra Innings now exclusively on DirecTV
Isn't there also some sort of device that lets you watch/look at your pc monitor through your tv? That might be an idea...
ALSO: The article says that the MLB Extra Innings becomes exclusive to DirectTV starting in 2009, so there are still 2 years left.
ALSO: Direct TV has a SportsPackage Lineup that has over 30 channels per each region (FSN Midwest, West, SNY, YES, etc), so that may supplement those interested in MLB Baseball. I'm looking into moving to the West Coast, and wanted my fix of Mets, Knicks, and Yanks.
Kinda offtopic, which digital cable provider would you recommend: Comcast or DirectTV?Last edited by AI03; 01-21-2007, 02:46 PM.Comment

Yeah having the sports package with Direct TV does you no good when it comes to baseball. In live in the Cincy area and every game but the Reds games get blacked out.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Good article on the deal..."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Re: MLB Extra Innings now exclusively on DirecTV
It hasn't been signed yet, InDemand is still fighting for it, but they're offer is way lower than Direct TV. I'm just wondering how Direct TV can continue to afford to pay these contracts with only 15 million sub'sComment

Re: MLB Extra Innings now exclusively on DirecTV
I called them up on Sunday, and asked them if I signed up for the Sports Package, I would get all 30+ channels.
So, let's say, I move to Portland, OR in the Pac NorthWest. I would only be eligible for those FSNs that are in the zipcode area? I wouldn't be able to get SNY, FSN East, Midwest, etc or YES because it's blacked out??? That really sux...
If that's the case, then I guess Direct TV and MLB Extra Innings is the way to go...although another site from Sunday posted the deal would start in 2009, but I guess that's incorrect.
I just hope to get my Mets and Yanks fix and MLB Extra Innings from Direct TV will get the job done.
Anyone know if they do broadcast any of the bball games in HD? I'm sure that's an extra cost tacked onto the monthly subscription...Comment

Unless MLB wants to come to my house and cut down my neighbor's trees, they've lost me as a customer.
Now I can't watch my Pirates... (not sure if I should be upset or should I thank MLB???)MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies
