I can't believe Wedge let Hargrove win that argument without a fight. Too bad for Byrd especially, he was really dealing those first four perfect innings.

What a douche move by the Mariners. If you don't think the conditions are good enough, get them to call it earlier. Don't wait til Byrd is just about to pitch what could be the last pitch of the game and then complain about the snow. There was plenty of time to get the last out, but by the time "The Human Rain/Snow Delay" was done whining, it was a white-out.

I was there today we went early at 3 and left a little after nine. I think i`m still frozen. All we needed was one more out, hell it could have just been one more pitch but Hargrove had to ruin it. Like it matters to the M`s they won`t be contending for anything other than the number one pick in the draft next year. Crazy day at jacobs field, did they show the guy that ran on the field and a snow angel? Byrd could have thrown a no-hitter. If i can i will post some pics from there later on.

Dude...The M's have some of the best depth out of ANY TEAM IN THE MAJORS, let alone the AL, let alone the AL West. Compared to some of the other extremely ill-prepared pitching staffs of the AL West, our team is freakin' stacked. We're competing for a lot more than you think. I don't expect us to take first place or anything, but we've got a team that can win games -- we've got 3 guys who can hit 20 jacks, 2 guys that can hit 30, and one of the best and youngest double play combo's in the AL.

I really don't appreciate you making such a snide, unfair, and biased remark.

Indians would have done the exact same thing.

Oh, and Beltre isn't that bad of a feilder -- he isn't an "error machine" as you guys put it. He'll make a few, just like any fielder -- definitely not the best, but he's not the worst...I swear...

No offense or anything, but damn...you act as if Byrd would have killed us even if there was no snow -- the guy is getting older, losing speed on his fastball, and his ERA gets higher and higher every year -- this was a pretty even pitching match, especially considering how much of an advantage it is to have a lefty like Ramirez in the rotation in a league that doesn't fair so well against lefties.

I'm not riled up about the game, I'm riled up about the people in this thread making ignorant remarks. Sorry about the language, I'm just used to using a little flair here and there when I'm trying to display a little anger.

I don't think it's fair for these people to just blame the M's and not the weather. That is freakin' STUPID! You KNOW it was because of weather issues, why harp on the issue and make it look as if the M's are wimps or something. I don't appreciate that.

I'm not saying it was because they were wimps, and I have no problem that they would want the game cancelled because quite frankly it was just as much of a pain in the butt for the Indians outfielders to pick up a fly ball in the flurries, which means that there is a chance that Lopez could have scored all of the runners on a bad play in the OF. But it's the fact that Hargrove let it get to a 1-2 count and let Byrd get ready to throw his next pitch before he decided to come out. Hell, even when Lopez turned to the ump, it would have been an appropriate time to come out, but again, he waited until Byrd was getting ready.
