Re: Hank Aaron won't witness Bonds break the record
It'd be great if he didn't but I doubt he'll skip it. Granted, nobody cares about it but he's going to soak up the media spotlight. I hope its on the road and nobody applauds.

Personally I can't wait until ARod or Pujols or whoever else breaks Bonds new record. And hopefully it won't take too long.#WeAreUKComment

Re: Hank Aaron won't witness Bonds break the record
It won't happen on the road. If Bonds is close to the record when the Giants are on the road he will likely be benched untill the Giants return home.
The only place the record will matter is in San Francisco and it would look really bad to show the historic footage of Bonds breaking the record with nothing but boos in the backround.
I applaud Hank for not wanting to watch Bonds make a mockery of his record.Comment

Re: Hank Aaron won't witness Bonds break the record
The funny thing is, most people don't even expect him to get a raucous celebration in San Francisco. The organization has been pretty hands-off with him (as indicated by his handling in FA). Barry has no one to blame but himself for his abrasive personality.
McGwire/Sosa treatment is 100000x better than anything Barry can expect to get.

Re: Hank Aaron won't witness Bonds break the record
I don't necessarily applaud or not applaud Aaron for doing this, but what difference does it make? Good for him... that seat will be left open for somebody else to see the game and witness history. Sorry that you didn't hit enough for Bonds to not pass you, Aaron. That's all I have to say. I didn't read the article, but just from reading the title, it sounds like he's just being a sore loser that it's not his record anymore. I don't want to hear the "s" word in response to my post... it won't be his record, and there won't be an asterisk by it, either.
But that's just my man crush for Bonds, so take it however you must.Last edited by Blzer; 04-10-2007, 08:01 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Hank Aaron won't witness Bonds break the record
If I were Hank I wouldn't even want to talk to Bonds ever again (if the two men have talked in the past) I'm glad that he's sticking his nose up at the whole prospect of Bonds breaking his record.
As for Bud Lite....well he can't skip it. As a commish he has to be there even if it's detestable to him. That's why he's hoping against hope that Bonds gets thrown in jail before he does break the record.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Or he'll bunt. I mean hey... open left side, right?
