    Derek Jeter

He gets like 20 mill to hit 19 home runs and 66 rbi's very overrated to be getting all the praise he gets just for being a contact hitter whos clutch

Again, top 25 in VORP in both leagues. Regularly has an OPS above .900. He's not a great hitter for average, but he gets on base and is a run producing machine. Only once has he had below 100 rbi's in a full season. He an efficient baserunner and has good range in the outfield. I don't see how he's even close to the most overrated player in the game. He's a good, solid player.

Overpaid yes, but not overrated, no fans or media actually think he's any good.

Carlos Beltran isn't overrated. He's arguably the best OF'er in the NL thus far.

You realize there are other statistics to judge players outside of home runs and RBI's?

NO ****! People walk him because they're terrified to pitch to him! How is that not earning your walks!?!? If anything, Bonds earns his walks more than anyone else in baseball. Being the most talented player in baseball for 20 years will "earn" that for you.

You mean like his high BA (.319 in his career), high OBP, ability to hit in the clutch, and leadership? I'm not even factoring in his postseason accolades.

Ask any Yankee and they'll say Jeter is the glue that holds the team together.

Jason Bay. Strikes out too often and has a HORRIBLE arm.

I'll be honest, I don't like Bonds. I'm not going to single him out but home runs in general have become much easier for hitters compared to the days of Babe Ruth. Strike zones have gotten smaller, fences have been moved in, and the ball used now is easier to hit a home run off of. Think about it, if you had your pick who would it be? The Babe or Barry?

I would least expect a player who plays for a losing team to be overrated. I bet half the country doesn't even know who the heck Jason Bay is.

Despite that I think he's still a hell of a player even though he's off to a slow start this year. Last year he was arguably one of the the best OF'ers in the National League and has put up great numbers with no one hitting behind him.

It doesn't help that Adam LaRoche has been far worst this season and inconsistent Xavier Nady follows those two. Despite that I don't hear how good Jason Bay is coming out of experts mouth every other day. Plus if he's striking out 140 times a year, what does that matter when he's hitting 30+ home runs and 100 RBI's? It's no different than a guy who only strikes out 70 times a year and hits 30+ home runs and 100 RBI's.

You need to quit listening to BSPN. Stick Jeter on the Royals and you've got Robin Yount, a bit better at the plate, significantly worse in the field.

Well, Jeter is more than a bit better than Yount at the plate, but Yount is a hall of famer, no?

I'm still waiting to hear all these examples of analysts and the media saying he's the best player ever, or that he's up there with Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Willie Mays, and company.
