    Oh, Milton

Milton Bradley was ejected and left with a right leg injury in the eighth inning Sunday against the Rockies.

This might be the most bizarre incident of the season. First, it wasn't clear at all what he was arguing about after he singled with the Padres down 6-1 in the eighth. It looked like the game would proceed without incident, but with a 1-2 count on the next batter, Bradley kept jawing with first-base ump Mike Winters and then he decided to go after him.

The first base coach held him back initally, and manager Bud Black went out to restrain him. Black ended up having to almost throw him to the ground, and he collapsed to the ground holding his right hamstring. It looked like a serious injury, one that could keep him out if the Padres reach the playoffs. Scott Hairston would get the majority of the playing time in left field.

How many of us would give our left arm to "play" baseball for a full time job? Milton Bradley has been, is, and will always be an idiot. Hope the Padres say adios to him after this year.

wonder what the ump said? the 1st base coach said it's the "most disconcerting conversation I've ever heard between a player and an umpire." "like he wanted to agitate the whole thing"...

With that being said... ahahahaahaha Bradley, you're a tool.

I'd really like to know what he said to Bradley. I know he's a hothead, but if the Ump said anything in a demeaning or derogatory manner his *** should be fired. There is no need for that **** on the field of play. The ump is there to make calls, not inject himself in the game or talk down to players.

Hmm I thought this was Milton being Milton but it sounds like the ump went over the line. Still, this event just goes to show that Bradley is an A Grade hothead who needs anger management like a baby needs milk.

I love that Milton's mom called Eric Wedge a racist and said he was to blame for all of Milton's problems with the Indians. When all of the black and Latin players were dumping beer and champagne on Wedge yesterday, it didn't look like any of them thought he was a racist.
Milton's a talented, but extremely injury-prone hothead. Any team that takes a chance on him is stupid.

                      Re: Oh, Milton

Milton's a hothead. Everyone knows this. & MB brings alot of this on himself because everyone knows he can be baited.

Having said that, the ump was the one in the wrong here. Did you see the highlights? Who went after the ump first? Not MB. It was Meachem. It was obvious the umpire was the instigator. Not to mention jawing @ him while the ball is in play.

That's beyond unprofessional. He should be held to a higher standard. I would hope he would be suspended for the last week. But, because this is baseball & MB, nothing will probably happen.

Sounds to me like the ump was at fault in this case.

Ump was wrong, but Milton has to be the angriest bastard on the planet.

I think Milton wakes up each morning angry at his toast and coffee.

I'm sure Jackie Robinson was called worse things. That's not to say I wouldn't go nuts but at least flip out within reason. Being called "poop" is pretty mild.

Needless to say the ump needs to be fired.
