    Re: Oh, Milton

Sounds like Milton was lured in on this one. I'm not a Milton fan, but I blame the ump. First base coach Meacham said he has never heard an ump berate a player like that in his 26 years. Ump needs to go.

I'm not condoning what, if anything, the ump said, but Tim Duncan didn't go crazy trying to attack Joey Crawford when Crawford challenged him to a fight. Bradley's a nutjob, and I'm not surprised in the least that he hurt his knee in the scuffle. Maybe this will finally be the event that makes him settle down.

On second thought, I doubt it. Once an "earmuffs"-hole, always an "earmuffs"-hole...

LOL, that guy is a complete nut job. Now he's done for the year. Hopefully the Pads cut him and no baseball team gives him another chance again.

                  Re: Oh, Milton

Milton is crazy, but I am sick of these umps who look for fights and attention. The game is about the players not the umps. I can believe that the ump waited until he came back up again to address the issue. That is not the right way to handle it. Go talk to the manager not the player.

On top of that it seems as the first base ump acted with as much class as Milton does at times. How ironic. These clowns better not be in the postseason. Crazy that he got hurt as well.

Also wondering what Bud Black was doing when the home plate umps talks to Milton for 25 seconds. I would have went out there and asked what was going on espically with Milton being Milton. Maybe he did, IDK.

I just looked at the umpiring crew for that game. Two of the umpires are guys I respect. (Bruce Froemming and Hunter Wendelstedt) I'm pretty sure that those two will be calling postseason games.

The ump seems like he was a total d-bag in this situation. I think most players (and people for that matter) would have flipped out if they were in that scenario. If they wouldn't, then they don't have a lick of heart.

He's only hitting .313/.414/.590 with 11 HR and 30 RBI since joining the Padres about a month and a half ago. I know I would be one ticked off fan if my team had a spot in the outfield for him and didn't make an offer. Either way, he'll be good to go by March/April.

he'll be like Everett... banished to the independent leagues... (and I'm calling it here first) that is until he beats up a fan cause they heckle him and he goes into the stands... mark it down, that's going to happen next year, I can feel it in my bones.

As a Red Sox fan, you've never had the "privilege" of having Milton on your team. He's a clubhouse cancer and a ticking timebomb who can't stay healthy (I think he's only played more than 101 games once in his career). There's a reason he's been with 4 teams in the last 5 years. If he had Albert Belle-like production, I could see him being worth it. But not when he can't even give you 100 games a season.

They did have Carl Everett though, who's probably worse.

We've never had Milton, but we did have Jurassic Carl. That has to count for something.
