I don't think Pedro Feliz is the second coming or anything, but 3B was such a mess last season that almost any move represents an upgrade and this is better than I was anticipating.

Yeah, I was really tooting Feliz's horn there. Thanks for bringing me back down to earth. I said he was better than Helms and Nunez, and since I wasn't expecting the Phillies to get us any help at 3B, I like the signing. Clearly, I should be committed.

I don't think any of the Phillies fans were declaring Feliz as a great player. When you consider what we put out there at 3B last year, yes, Feliz is an upgrade. That's a testament to just how bad our offensive production from 3B was last year.

He's definitely better than Helms and Nunez were.

So if you agree he isn't good, then why is it hating when I say he isn't good?

DK...it's all in good fun...But to answer your question only Phillies fans can pass judgement on their players.

Seriously though...We're not touting Feliz as our franchise player Ok. But all of us Phillies fan agree that he is good for our team, and better than what we had in 07. And since he is hitting 6th or 7th in our order instead of in the middle of the order in SF, and he is in CBP he will probably put up career numbers...probably. Even if he doesn't put up career numbers he's a much better defensive option, and allows Dobbs to move to our bench as a left-handed batting utility-man where he thrived in 2007 hitting .292.

So in short he makes us better...Point. Blank. Period.

I agree that there's plenty of room to get better. I'm not all too satisfied with this offseason. It's a classic example of a Philly sports team being on the brink, but management not doing enough.

We'll see what happens. I hope I'm wrong.

There's a bunch of people in this thread that say Feliz is worthless, yet p2k makes it a point to call out me and when I say he's bad its trolling and hating.

I didn't call you out. You showed yourself lol. I could've been talking about anybody. A Met fan, Braves fan or whomever else didn't agree with Rollins being MVP or something.

Nunez was an enigma in the field in 2007 being Manuels lat innings fielding option...who would've thought...?

I watched a great number of games last year and Nunez made some amazing plays in the field last year, so no wonder Uncle Charlie went with him. The question will be, will Moyer insist on having him there when he pitches? (a lil lol)

back to Feliz, I don't buy that he's that much of an upgrade over the 3B platoon the Phillies used to have. It's not like the Phillies are stretched for runs anyway between Howard, Rollins and Utley. He's shown no ability to be a consistent offensive threat when he has a full season of at-bats.

How is Feliz not an upgrade over what the Phils had? The Phillies had NOBODY at third. Feliz can play a full season with very good defense and has pop in his bat, making him a very good bat in the 7th or 8th spot in the lineup of a great run-producing team. I don't see how this is a bad move.

Yeah, its too bad he didnt stay banned. He's like the NBA2k8 CHAMP of the baseball forum. Legit phillies fans should put a disclaimer in their sigs, just like the real UNC fans did.
