Just look at the stats. He blows a bunch of the guys you listed ahead of him away.

And it's certainly possible he has a down year but there's just no real logic that says its going to happen.

He's been playing so hard for so long, he is starting to fall out of his prime, just think the age will start to get to him.

That's a better post but he's 33. I'd say he still has a few years before we should see any significant decline in performance.

Seeing as how his numbers last year were pretty much exactly the same as his career averages, the evidence suggests otherwise.

Honestly admit this atleast, that if he didn't play in New York he wouldn't be listed ahead of a lot of these players. Jeter will not be a top 5 ss this year. Quote me on it!!!!

You've already said the offense was similar. I don't know why you are discounting defense.

So Khalil Greene sucks at defense? WOW, let's just point out ONE FREAKIN' STAT and call it a day. What's next, you're going to bring up VORP?

I'm sorry if I'm not like you and I'm not buying into the Tulowitzki hype, since I see him as a Coors Field Product who IMO is no better than 8th in the league overall out of other SS, his FPCT was only .003 % off and they both committed the same number of errors. They're both great defensively, but just because there's a big difference in one stat makes one player inferior to the other. Oh my!

Oh, I know you said that Tulowitzki is better than Greene defensively I was just addressing your point that they each had the same number of errors, was only because Tulowitzki got to the ball much more often than Greene did.

That's cool. I'm aware that Tulowitzki has had a lot more chances. There's nothing I have against Tulowitzki's defense. It's his offense that bothers me. He's one of the better shortstops in the league, but if he cuts down on the difference in his home/road splits, then I'll consider him one of the top shortstops, until then, he's in the upper half, but no better than sixth or seventh at the moment.

Actually it's huge, and you've just as much argued yourself that they are the same offensively once taking park factors into account. Yet you still contend that they are the same level overall.
