I just realized he DSpezzano is probably an imposter (3 posts). Probably fanboy material. You know D, there are forums for the game of your choice. Why can't people just relax and enjoy!

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

3 posts makes me a fanboy?? I joined these forums so I could learn more about MVP. For the Record I own MVP, WSB2K3, HH and ASB. So tell me which one am I a fanboy of?

Guess what, people generally join forums when new games come out so they can follow the action. Not everyone has to be a daily poster to be credible.

Whoa, you dropped $200 on all the games? There is so much I have to play right now...I wouldn't have time for all 4. But I have rented ASB and HH. I am going to rent all 4 and then decide which one I like.

My pick last year was WSB for the Xbox. I had a blast w/ it. This year WSB 2K3 looks strong, but MVP is VERY intriguing. I wanna at least try out the new pitching meter before I decide on a game.

Traded in crap for ASB, bought HH for the PC and yes I bought these two. Regardless of what people think, MVP is my favorite game of the bunch. It is a blast to play. WSB is problably the deepest, but to come off MVP pitching and go to WSB is like going from an MLB game to a slow pitch softball game.

The pitching interface is awesome, as well as the running. Everything about this game is fresh and new. Just soe odd quirks which is to be expected for a first in the series.

Too bad that you can shut down the CPU offense with a single money pitch. This is an EA game so I am not surprised.

                      Re: HUGE FLAW!!!!

Guys, there may be some truth to this... After reading this post, All I could think about was the pitch to center test that I ran last year with WSB, if any of you can remember that thread. So I just went to exhibition mode ( All Star ) to test this theory and found some strange results.

I continuously followed the posters rule of just tapping 4seam fastball ( not powering up ) and catching the green as best I could on each pitch. The batter swung and drove it each time. The CPU scored 3 runs off me in the first and I was getting excited to prove this theory incorrect but I kept playing on....the next inning the cpu scored only 1. For the remainder of the game, the cpu was held scoreless. In fact, I noticed that even when you dont catch the green the batter will still connect solidly on the first pitch if its dead center. Also, I noticed that my pitcher had a FULL TANK of gas left in his stamina whih basically proves that pitchers are ONLY effected by the amount of total Pitch Charge they use rather than total number of pitches AND Pitch charge which I feel should have been the case.

Now you may be asking, so what does this actually prove. Well, Im not really sure...its a bit different then the WSB pitch test I ran last year because in this case, the CPU is connecting when it sees this first pitch down the middle flat every time So in essence, its taking advantage of the situation but on the negative side it also supports a possible theory that this game has no learning or tendency tracking built into the AI to adapt to someone who repeatedly starts to throw. In this little test, I was basically hoping that the CPU would start to hit me MORE often and deeper with better precision as I started to repeat this pattern. In essence I was basically PITCHING a batting practice to the team but yet the team was hitting as if I was mixing it up. SO this COULD prove to be a huge problem in the game....it could basically undermine the strategy of mixing up your pitches and THROWING HARD with different location....However its still not that cut and dry either. The good or bad thing was that I was never able to have him swing and miss on these meatballs over the plate...but I still wasnt seeing him adapt to my repeated pitches and start to really jack them out. This game there were no homers at all. And this strategy also kept my pitcher completely FRESH as if he hadnt pitched a single pitch.....there should have been some stamina drained just for the simple fact that I threw 9 innings.

I am going to test a few more games...but this one could prove to be even more serious then the lack of cpu swings out of the strike zone. Whatever the case, someone NEEDS to get this info to EA asap before the PC version comes out....if its not too late.

Im still having fun tho....but this one could hurt a bit! I'll keep you posted.

exactly. I tested it for an inning. Got shelled and that was good enough for me. Some of these people need to realize it's a video game.
