Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!
I use pitch previe with timed hitting. It's not nearly as easy as you'd think. However, it helps work the pitcher and get walks, which is key to baseball.be who you are and say what you feel, because those who matter don't mind, and those that mind, don't matter.Comment

Fanatic,
It seems like you are getting solid results. Could you please post all of your current settings? I'd really appreciate it as would everyone else. And what is it that you mean when you refer to MVP or HVP, im not sure I understand that.
Thanks a lot.
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
MVP-Medium variable pitching.
HVP-High variable pitching.
Now what did does to the CPU and USER is dramatic. I was educated in this by fellow WSB players of this MB(message board.) Basically, if you have you're pitching variability to MVP then you'll tend to hit your location where you intended them. At HVP, you won't have as much control, and if you wanted to put a fastball high it might go higher or lower than intended. Of course, this vary depending on the quality of the pitchers, and their stamina during the game.
I play on HVP while I set the CPU pitching at MVP. Mine is at HVP because I felt that I was getting too many K's against the CPU and I wanted to make it harder for me to pitch. CPU has theirs at MVP because I wanted to make it difficult to hit.
My unofficial settings (unofficial because I have to still tweak the CPU batting sliders) are as follows:
CPU PA - 100 with MVP
CPU BA - 35
CPU BE(B) - 90
CPU BE(S) - 60
CPU TS - 5
CPU SB - 45
I play on HVP, no pitch cursor, K-zone, pitch preview, small batting cursor, fast pitch speed.
I think I've maximized the CPU pitching. Only thing that I could think about changing is that if CPU pitching gets too easy where I can hit anything anytime then I'll change the batting cursor to very small. But I don't see that happening anytime soon. Only thing that I MAY alter is the CPU BA and/or CPU BE(S) if CPU gets too little or too many hits and K's with a great pitcher like Pedro Martinez. I'm going to test these out tonight, and post results later.
If anyone tries these out and post their results that could be helpful too. I do apprciate any comments or criticisms.

WSB,
my setting are almost identical to yours, with the exception of CPU PA, which i have at 60......from what i understand, this slider increases the cpu's ability to paint the corners, thereby in effect widening the strike zone, which is plenty big already....at least for me, i have a tough enough time not getting called out on strikes on the corner with it at 60, i dont even want to think about it at 100Comment

1. I meant to say no pitch preview.
2. I thought it would be crazy hard also at CPU PA - 100 with MVP, but if you combine that with CPU TS - 5 then it's not that bad. I'd try it because chances are the more you play the game; the easier it'll get and you might increase the CPU PA to 100 anyways. Just my .02Comment

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!
btw slugox, how's the K's against the CPU, hits and runs against the CPU per game going? In other words, is the CPU hitting too good, too easy, or just right?
ThanksComment

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!
ok i just played Phillies and Marlins.
Phillies 2 8 0
Marline 3 9 0
Went 12 innings
Millwood in 5 innings, 3 hits, 2 runs, 3 BB, 7 Ks
Pitches-Strikes: 67-43(remember this was in 5 innings)
Burnett in 6 innings, 6 hits, 2 runs, 3 BB, 7 Ks
Pitches-Strikes: 92-59(in 6 inn)
Both teams had 12 Ks total each for their team. This game went extra innings. If it were over in 9 innings, both teams would have had under 10 K's total for each team. Also, I allowed an extra run do to a fielding error(not an official error) I just pressed the wrong button. Anyway, this game would have been a 2-1 Phils win.
Anyone else tried my sliders yet, and getting similar results?Comment

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!
I'm a little confused. How do you set the CPU at MVP and the Human at HVP.
I didn't see an option for that. Maybe I just didn't look hard enough.
Anyway, I'm having these problems with the CPU.
-Swings at too many strikes early.
-I can't seem to balance the K's and the CPU hits.
CPU still throws too many stikes.
My settings on legend.
75 Pitching Ability
50 Batting Ability
60 Eye for Balls
40 Eye for stikes
20 CPU throw stikes
50 StealsComment
