Now that I have my pitching perfect, (I'm actually walking guys now), my hitting has been way to good lately.
be who you are and say what you feel, because those who matter don't mind, and those that mind, don't matter.

Consider me lazy, I guess, but have you guys came up with a concensus of the "ultimate #1 slider settings".

I ask this, because a lot of guys have been changing sliders over time. ANd it gets real confusing with 50-60 posts relating to one change here and another change there.

has anybody tabulated all of the changes into one set of slider settings for easy reference.

            Thanks.

I second FP's confirmation. I may have seen the response on BBSC's forum. Basically he said the level names (rookie, all-star, legend, ect.) are merely names for "presets" for the sliders. As soon as you change any 1 of them you are using custom sliders and do not fall into ANY of the named "presets".

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

OK. It's been a while, but here are my newest, latest slider settings. I have to say that these are a bit challenging, although those who are more experienced might not say so, but I hope that you'll agree that it'll be realistic.

Pros: Realistic R H E, walks per game, and basically overall stats
Cons: When using very small batting cursor I was striking out way to many times per game. Now, i changed it to small and it lowered drastically. When I get better at hitting, I'll put it back to very small. Also, I still feel that I get a little too many Ks, but it mostly depends on who is pitching. For example, Millwood will get more than Padilla, and so on.

CPU PA - 100, with MVP
                    CPU BA - 25
                    CPU BE(B) - 90
                    CPU BE(S) - 85
                    CPU TS - 5
                    CPU SB - 40

One can see that this is an eclectic mix of others' slider settings. A basic overview of these would tell you that the pitching in these settings are maxed out with respect to realism. In other words, I can't make the CPU PA any harder at 100 with MVP. The CPU TS at 5 is giving me realistic number of BB in every game so I'm not planning to change that, but the only thing I could think about changing was the batting cursor size. As I said before, when I get better I'll decrease the cursor. The only thing that still makes me wonder is the CPU hitting. Some games, they have hit all over me, but in other games, I was basically shutting them out. One game I was getting a no-hitter with Meyers, unti he was dead exhausted in the 6th, that's then they took advantage of my grooved pitches, and the Pirates won the game. So, basically, they're hitting was shut down until my pitcher was tired. I should have put in a Middle Reliever at that time or something. But basically, it requires a lot of skill to take out the CPU hitting.

Right now I'm 1-4, struggling in the early goings, but I believe in my offense and we'll get things going. More update next week about the Phillies and the slider progess, but I'm going to keep it there for this week.

                    Thanks

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

Hey WSB, I'm liking those sliders more and more man. At first I was worried about the strikeouts, but I think they are not too far off with those sliders.

The amount of CPU hits is a little high when you pump their hitting ability up. I played about 5 games with it about 50-70 and they had about 12 on avg. a game. However, the next two games, they had about 17 avg.. I came to the conclusion that they could just hit too easily. While the modern baseball era has seen an increase in offense, I would like my games to be lower scoring and more strategic.

By the way, I had the pitch cursor on and MVP when I was trying out that high CPU batting stuff.

So now, I've got the CPU hitting at 25 like you, with no cursor and HVP. The BE is set at 90 and 65. Should I raise the strikes to 80?

Anyways, thanks for all your input, it really helps out a bunch of people I'm sure.

I'm going to try these out but I suspect that you don't really care about realistic pitch counts because the CPU swings and hits too many balls in the lower counts.

                                Jrod,

I have settings very close to that of WSB and I am getting very realistic pitch counts. I usually walk on average 2-3 batters a game. Counts go very deep, my starting pitchers will always get over a 100 plus pitches.

The key is having the Batting Eye strieks and balls really high with a lower Batting average. That way they don't swing at a ton of balls, they will try to make contact with most strikes but won't always make contact or good contact (foul balls). You can still paint strikes in on the corners and get them looking. My strikeouts numbers are usually pretty good 9-10 a game.

Plus on my end I get great pitch counts, wakl 3 times or so a game. Always have deep counts so I can tire out the starting pitcher.

Alot of the control over pitch counts is up to the user.
