Hey Jordanfan WSBFanatic, what sliders are you using? Can you please post them?

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I use WSBFanatic's sliders, they've been good to me! Speaking of them, here is the mini box score from game 5 of my Reds franchise:

    CHC 5 11 0
    CIN 4 12 1
    HR's-Sosa(2)
    CHC Pitching-120 Pitches/93 strikes 11SO 0BB
    CIN Pitching-101 Pitches/70 strikes 5SO 0BB

First of all Zambrano was blowing fastballs by me until he started to tire in the 6th and I got to him a little. Got a run in the bottom of the 9th to cut the deficit to 5-4. I get a man on second, two outs, Casey up, and he grounds hard to Choi to end it! Sosa hit a couple of bombs off of me to make it 4-0, and a wild pitch with a man on third made it 5-0. I battled back with agressive baseball and baserunning and good bullpen work, but I didn't hit good with runners in scoring position, and fact is, if you don't do that, you don't win, I don't care what level of baseball you are playing!

On a side note, I have never seen a dive/jump button that is so accurate. Example: bloop to shallow center, Griffey coming in, I dive(no he's not out 6-10 weeks) and I misread where the ball would land and it hits me in the back and ends up a triple b/c I overdove&lt;a new word I made up! I did the same thing on a grounder and it went off of me into right field b/c I dove too early. I love HH's fielding response, but if you dive or jump anywhere near the ball you catch it. Scaling a wall, or making a leaping catch, or snaring a hot shot in the hole are not ordinary plays in baseball b/c they take tremedous timing and skill and I think WSB does a great job of representing that! Keep them posts coming!

            lol...seriously Look what you've created!!!

            Anyway, another update
            Phillies 5 12 0
            Reds 1 7 0

            Padilla(1-2): P-S: 70-47, 2Ks, 1BB in 9 inns (complete game)
            Dempster(0-3): P-S: 69-49, 6K and 2BB in 6 inns

Total I had 9 Ks and 3 BBs against me. Hrs by Padilla(1) and Branyan(3)

Game summary: Padilla was clearly the player of the game by his pitching. 8 shutout inns till Branyan hit a 1 run Hr off of him in the 9th. Padilla was able to finish strong and get his 1st win of the season.

Slider summary: It should be noted that the CPU BA slider was changed from 30 to 35 to increase my walks per game. And judging by my P-S ratio it did. I'm still opening to raising it up a little more if I'm to dominating, but I'm going to play it here for a week to see.
Also, because I felt that I was getting too many hits per game, I lowered the Batting cursor from small to very small. I was worried that it would raise the amt of Ks I would get per game, but this game I had 9. That's my usual per game. I'd like to aim for under 5 per game, but that'll mostly now depend on my own plate discipline.

            Here is updated slider setting
            CPU PA-100, MVP
            CPU BA - 35
            CPU BE(B) - 90
            CPU BE(S) - 85
            CPU TS - 1
            CPU SF - 40

CPU and USER are pitching at MVP, very small batting cursor, with no pitch preview, cursor, Kzone, or vibration.

As I said before, this will be my settings for the rest of the week. By Friday, I'll post more results and see if I need to change anything else. Possible changes might be the CPU BA if I continue to own them with not so great pitchers, but I also think that my pitchers just played well lately and they're bound to get burned soon. What a good manager I am!

            Enjoy!

Just to correct myself...i mentioned how changing the CPU BA to 35 increased my walks per game, but what I meant to say was the the increase in CPU BA to 35 increased the number of balls thrown, not the number of walks.

Actually, these settings were very good for me except on one factor. Getting and throwing walks per game. Now, I know that throwing BB about 3-5 per game is dependent on me(I shouldn't throw strikes everytime), but if I'm dominating the CPU then I'll keep throwing pitches in the Kzone. I needed to be "afraid" of the power hitters. So what I did to "fix" this issue was to raise the CPU BA to 40; it was set to 35 before. Result? I was smoked by the Braves hitters!!! It wasn't fun getting hit too many times. But I thought, "maybe, I just had a bad pitching day, so I tried again. This time, I tried to be more careful...I did a little better, but the result was the same. I decided to lower it to 37. It was a little better, but I was getting ripped. Again, I wasn't sure if it was me or the Braves. I didn't have enough time to play this so I can't say for sure. I do know that I'm the Phillies, and I have been doing well this season(10-6 record). I just wanted to up the competition. Maybe the CPU BA at 35 was perfect. But I had a bad game at 37. Only 2 notches up! Wondering if that makes a big difference.

The other issue, CPU throwing me more BBs. I already had the CPU TS at 1 and CPU PA at 100, MVP so I decided to lower the CPU PA to the 90-95 range and see what happened. I must say lower it to 95 made a pretty big difference. But also, as I was suspecting, I had 12 runs on 14 hits on the Marlins. Again, this was only 1 game so Im sure it won't happen often...or will it?

Anyway, here is another update of the slider with final comments

                        CPU PA - 95, MVP
I need people to try this out at the 90-95 range and inform us all of two issues: 1. Are you getting a significant amount of BB/game. 2. Did you get more hits and runs than before

                        CPU BA - 37
Again, I need people to try this out at the 35-40 range and inform us all about two things. 1. Do you see yourself throwing more BB/game to avoid the power hitters.
                        2. Or does the CPU hit all over you even with their pitchers and poorest of hitters.

                        CPU BE(B) - 90
                        CPU BE(S) - 85
                        CPU TS - 1
                        CPU SF - 45
I raised this up just because the CPU wasn't stealing enough. This slider is the least of my concern.

As I said before, I looked at my stats and things seemed pretty realistic except my BB/game throwing and recieving. I'm hoping that these issues would be resolved by altering the first two settings. Since I won't be playing this till Tuesday, I'll need other WSB players help. So I hope you guys try these out and let me and others know how they've been so that I can implement them myself.

                        Thanks

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

I was reading over this and I'm not sure if I made myself clear, but the two issues I had with the settings couple of post ago was:

                            1. Getting more BBs per game
                            2. Throwing more BBs per game

In order to resolve issue 1 I lowered the CPU PA to 95. I downside to that is I was afraid of getting more hits per game since the CPU would be poorer pitchers. I know that before the week is over I am going to have this at 90 to 95.

Issue 2 is a tough one. On one hand it's up to me to throw more balls. On the other, I want to throw balls if the CPU was threatening to hit it over me. Personally, I felt that raising the CPU BA at 40 would help that, but they just hit everything. I want to get more BBs to the CPU but I don't want to give up more hits than I already do. Before the week is over I know that this setting will be between 35 to 37. Personally, I liked it at 35, but I want it to be a bit more challenging, but not unrealistically challenging.

I do hope that people try out these settings with variations in the CPU PA and CPU BA and let me know.

                            Thanks...again...goodnight!

You know what...I was just reading my post above about the Phills win over the Reds with Padilla throwing a complete game. I was reviewing it and notived that he threw less than 80 pitches total in 9 innings. Hmm...I don't know if I like that.

Anyone have suggestions about how to fix that? He should have had over 100 pitches that game. Actually, 90 would have been good too, but definately not in the 70's.

Suggestions??? I was thinking raising the CPU BA to 40 and lowering the CPU BE(S) to 80. Just a thought...what do you suggest???
