Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

i was just playing with graphiks sliders at
    100
    20
    85
    80
    10
    50

ok i was yankees and cpu was dbacks. i got 8 hits off of R. Johnson and they got 17 hits off of mussina and weaver combined. do i suck at pitching? was this an odd occurence? i had very small cursor, even so i feel like i got too many hits. R Johnson had 4 Ks, mussina had 4, and weaver had 2. Are those realistic K numbers?

One more question. their closer came in for 1/3 of an inning. he gave up a run, but it was Johnson's runner, so they gave the earned run to Johnson instead of Pintz. But, in the box score, Pintz's ERA was 9.45. How does that work?

Yea right off the bat, I would say that the number of hits were high, but you have to know that you can't judge the realisticality (if that's a word) of the slider based on one game. I'd say try again and perhaps be more careful with your pitches. How were your Pitches-Strikes ratio and how many balls did you get and give up?

the balls-strikes ratio was perfect for both teams. I have finally learned how to lay off some pitches.

Right now I've been using these setting for the week

                  CPU PA - 100, MVP
                  CPU BA - 30
                  CPU BE(B) - 90
                  CPU BE(S) - 85
                  CPU TS - 1
                  CPU SB - 40

                  I'm at:
small batting cursor - the reason is because when I was using very small I felt that I was striking out way to much, but once I become a better hitter (ie if I'm getting way too many hits and Hrs per game) then I'm drop it back to very small.

no Kzone, pitch cursor off, no pitch preview, no vibration - I'm trying to make my pitching as hard as it can be for me to not getting too many K's per game.

Now, I forget if I'm on MVP or HVP. I think I'm on MVP. Which ever it is though I'm very pleased with my Ks per game as it's very low. In other words, I really need to work hard to strike out the CPU. As I mentioned in another post, I'll let everyone know on Tuesday night...

                  Good luck

I am loving these sliders. Hit totals are a little high, but I can adjust that with better pitching and I have started putting my pitching on High and the AI pitching on Medium. If I continue to hit too well, I will make the cursor smaller. I am having really good and TENSE games with these ala High Heat! Thanks again for all of the posts and input on sliders and the roster updates

I am loving these sliders. Hit totals are a little high, but I can adjust that with better pitching and I have started putting my pitching on High and the AI pitching on Medium. If I continue to hit too well, I will make the cursor smaller. I am having really good and TENSE games with these ala High Heat! Thanks again for all of the posts and input on sliders and the roster updates

                              thanks for the update jordan...

yea that's what i realized also. Bringing down the hit totals really depends now on how well you throw to the CPU. One game I gave up only 2 hits and other I gave up more. But one thing I never had so far was giving up 20 hits! It's not impossible in baseball, but it shouldn't happen often and it doesn't

Bringing down the User hitting might depend on the batting cursor now (as you have mentioned already) Bringing it down will probably result in less pinpoint contact with the ball thus giving poorer hits. Less hits will result when changing the cursor to very small instead of small. The only drawback about that is that I don't want to strike out too many times. I'll see if that's true of me.
