Slip...are you using my slider with the CPU PA at 100, MVP? I'm thinking if it's better to have it at 95 in order to get more BBs.

VanillaEpps, it's possible to get the hits at the high of a setting. But I had to start slow. So just go at your own pace and remember to have fun!

Oh, btw I think I got the 300th Post!!!

    YEA! LOL

How are you guys getting anything to hit with the PA at 100? I set my PA slider at 85. I played against the Tigers and they had their scrub pitcher on the mound. He struck me out 14 times!!!!!!!!
Am I just not at 'that' level yet? I find that if I move the PA slider down a bit I start to hit more. I can't find a happy medium....

OH also, the CPU PA at 100, MVP works together with the CPU TS at 1. But like I said before, I feel that I don't get too many BBs so I'm going to lower it to 95.

Slip, how are you with getting walked per game??? Just wondering...seems like the pitch counts are pretty good too.

I forget but these are the settings your using right?

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

One final post...I'm going to play the next few games at these settings.

          CPU BA 37
          CPU BE(S) 80

          and
          CPU BA 37
          CPU BE(S) 85

I'll compare these games and check for
          1. pitch counts
          2. Run, Hits, Ks, and BBs, issued by the USER(me)

I hope to throw close to and maybe over 100 pitches with 3-4 BBs per game, and 3-8 Ks per game depending on the pitcher and team I go up against.

          We'll see...Good nite

Goes without saying, but if I don't like any of those settings then I'm going to go back to CPU BA 35 and CPU BE(S) 85.

              Ok...goonight for real now.

Ya, I played with it at 100. One thing I lowered a little was the CPU Batting Average. I lowered it like 3 notches because I was getting a lot of hits against me in the next few games I played.

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!

I moved the PA slider to 65 and a scrub pitcher was still able to significantly strike out my side. I would say it went down from 13-14 SO's to about 7 SO.
But when I moved the batting camera from low to middle. From that view I was able to see when the pitch was coming and time my swing. It's harder to see high and low pitches from the view, but it helps with contact. I still whiffed 3-4 times in this view but I was able to get some contact on 95 fastballs (very fast option) that would have blown right by me in camera low.

Has anyone else moved the camera angle to get a better look at the pitches?

Here is where my problem lies. Florida had 11 hits and a walk. That means (barring double plays) you faced 39 batters, and only threw 96 pitches. Almost the same amount you threw when you played your first game with only 5-7 hits. There is the issue.

How many first strikes did the CPU swing at? The CPU needs to be patient, half of the game of baseball is waiting for your pitch to hit, which also work the pitch count of the opposing pitcher.

I also have a theory. Fanatic said that the formula for K's is BE(s) + CPU BA. Well, I am starting to believe it is CPU BA + BE(b) + BE(s), with priority in that order. CPU BA determines if they will hit the ball when they swing (just in the pitcher/batter interface), BE(b) will determine if they swing at a bad pitch. Most K's come from batters swinging at bad pitches.

I am going to try this combo: CPU BA between 35-40 (maybe at 37 where Fanatic suggested), BE (b) at 80-90, BE (s) at 50-60. Those slider should promote patience at the plate, while still keeping the batters swinging at grooved pitches, and occasionally being fooled by a low and outside slider.

Fanatic, tell me what you think. I know most people try to keep the BE sliders near each other, maybe we need to try putting some distance between the two?

I am going to try this combo: CPU BA between 35-40 (maybe at 37 where Fanatic suggested), BE (b) at 80-90, BE (s) at 50-60. Those slider should promote patience at the plate, while still keeping the batters swinging at grooved pitches, and occasionally being fooled by a low and outside slider.

Fanatic, tell me what you think. I know most people try to keep the BE sliders near each other, maybe we need to try putting some distance between the two?

ive been using 35/85/65 respectively on those sliders for quite a while now and am quite happy with the results....maybe give them a try?
