well in the last game I played, I noticed that the CPU takes the first pitch you throw if you throw it in their hot zone. Again, I only did this for one game, haven't played since so I dont know if this will always work.
You can't throw the same first pitch, but if you mix it up they tend to take it.

Then I usually throw a slower, faster pitch around the same location, but toward a cold zone.

For the strikeout I tried someone's advice on throwing a high fastball out of the zone (but near their hot zone) and get them chasing. Some players would take the pitch...but then i come back with a curve/changeup in the lower part of the plate. WOrked for the most part but i'm still working on it.

So far the first pitch thing seems to really work.

First of all, the comp AI varys greatly between pro and all-star, so lets determine what difficulty we are talking about first.

That said, on pro, getting two strikes is not a problem if you hit the green accuracy zone. and hit corners with good pitches, i get 2 strikes almost every time throwing a fastball on a corner cold zone, and then following it up with a pitch that breaks onto a corner ie for a righty-righty matchup a slider or curveball on the inside part of the plate, or on a lefty-righty matchup throw a slider curve or even a cutter that lands on an outside corner, if you execute the pitches right it should be 2 strikes every time.

okay... 0-2, then what? well im still trying to figure that out, but i seem to get a reasonable amount of sucess first trying to get them to chase a pitch out of the zone, for example a low and aay curveball, and i throw it outside of a hotzone, then if they dont chase it i throw a pitch with the same speed and try and get them to chase that too. If that dont work i throw a pitch much faster/slower to a cold zone or just outside a hot zone. So i basicly try to set them up with 2 slow pitches and throw something hard, or two fast pitches and throw something slow. It also seems like when setting up for a curve or slider and you throw it on a corner the same way as for a second strike (breaking in on a righty, or a backdoor pitch for a lefty) they watch strike three. this seems to work most of the time on pro. I got 15 K's with Randy Johnson a minute ago. I dont know, try this strategy out and let me know what you think.

I remember when I was complaining about not being able to see my base runners run the bases and shredder you said no baseball game will alow this. This was a couple years ago, and thats when I hated all baseball games. Now it took EA to finally put this feature in the game. I knew it could be done, and now I finally have a baseball game can I enjoy.

            Good work EA!!

edit: This was back in the day on the IGN Sports boards.

I'm a little confused on your last statement. What is it that you think I said?

Well you said my post was stupid because of my complaint of not being able to see the runners run the bases, but I felt I had a lagit complaint. I got flamed real hard for this complaint and it was WSB2k1.

Oh yeah, sorry for getting off topic.

I really have no tips as of yet.
