Im surprised u were able to last into the 8th maxing out your meter like that on every pitch. It doesnt make sense to max out your meter on "waste" pitches outside the strike zone.
Anyway, great game! When was the last time pitching was as much fun as hitting in a baseball video game?

That's just it though. From what I have seen (and I just pitched another decent game with Clemens-He lasted until 2 outs in the eighth with 5 K's) taking the meter to the fullest is what to do. The cpu WILL chase pitches outside the zone if you set them up well. Taking the meter all the way is not the main reason the pitcher gets fatigued but rather the amount of pitches. The meter has some to do with tiring out pitcher but more-so it effects effectiveness. As the game goes on the "good" part of the meter gets smaller because the pitcher is getting tired, thus making it harder to get good effectiveness. But if you can continue to hit green then you will have a good game. Again though..it is hard to hit green area late in game when taking meter in the red,as it should be ...as the pitcher gets tired it should be harder to be effective.

Anyways this is how I'm playing now and it is working for me
In the middle of a set vs the A's...a 6/10 on the importance scale. Clemens just won the first game....

I guess the analogy I can think of it's like a tank of fuel. Dick_Smalls said it bast, You have certain amount of power in your tank. So every pitch takes a small bit of energy away from you, if you don't go to the red every pitch you can actually last longer because you didn't use your tank.

I'm getting more striekouts but I still get hit pretty well.

CPU still doesn't hit enough homeruns. I'd be happy with one a game.
And the CPU pulls pitchers too early too often. If fact in my last few games I don't think any pitcher went past the 5th.

Yes that is true. Going into red tires pitcher out. But it is not to the extent that you should only rarely do it. No matter what though you have to hit green.
I also agree that there are very few HR's by CPU.....

Somebody else has probably said this already, but I feel changing speeds is key when getting SO's, and having an out pitch is very important.

When Im looking for a SO vs the CPU, I look to use one on these pitches - Cutter, Curve, or Slider. I have a location for each one also, Cutter - low and inside, Curve - High or Low, and Slider - Inside on Righties, Outside to Lefties.

I place them right on the Strike Zone border, and use max effectiveness.

Thats about it, I recently had a 10K 8inn game with Leiter vs the Expos. I also get a good share of called 3rd Strikes, I'd say for every 10Ks, 4 are called.

                              Play PRO level

Mix slow and hard stuff effectively

Don't set a pattern doing same things on most batters

                              Use sliders down and away

                              Fastballs up and in

                              Curveballs/changeups when have them 0-2 or 1-2
