huge glitch, but it IS possible to bat in behind the pitcher view!!!!!!!!!!
Now, before you get all excited let me explain. I did not find some hidden option, or hack the game in any way. I did however experience quite possibly the coolest glitch I have ever seen in any game, ever. In my Braves franchise I have just reached the point where interleague play begins. I simmed the last few games before my first series with the Rangers, and I decide to play the first game against Texas. I start the game as I normally would, and I have sit their first three batters down in order. So far, everything is normal. Then I come up to bat, I skip through the the pitcher profile, and the defensive positions, and lo and behold what do I see, Furcal is up to bat, but the camera is behind the pitcher!!!! The batting cursor is there and everything, and I can move it around just like I normally would. They pitched to me and I could swing and make contact as if nothing was wrong. There is a fully working behind the pitcher batting interface coded into the game, but unfortunately I do not know how I gained access to this. I know FatPitcher mentioned that they were working on this mode, but had problems with implementing it. However, it seemed to work perfectly normal to me, except that I was having tons of problems adjusting to this new way of batting. To make sure that this wasn't just a one time deal I quit the game, and restarted it, when I came up to bat it was still in behind the pitcher mode. Then I shut off my XBox and started the same game again and the same thing happened. I'm guessing that the code for this mode was left on the disk, but Blue Shift disabled the option to select it, and somehow my franchise triggered this. Before you think I'm bull********, let me say that I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Now I'm afraid to touch my settings because I don't want this to disappear. Maybe FatPitcher can shed some light on this. I have a cheap webcam, and I'll try to set it up to get some pictures in the meantime.Tags: None -

Hopefully Ps2 will have this. FP, can you confirm on ANY of this?
Try in exhibition mode also... see what happens.Comment

I never use that cam when batting, I just can't hit that way. Of course, this games view could be different.be who you are and say what you feel, because those who matter don't mind, and those that mind, don't matter.Comment

Re: huge glitch, but it IS possible to bat in behind the pitcher view!!!!!!!!!!
As per Muffin's advice I tried Exhibition mode. First I tried playing as the away team, but when lead off the game I was in normal behind the batter mode. I quit, and then played an exhibition as the home team, and sure enough after pitching through the top half of the inning I came up to bat in behind the pitcher mode. It's almost as if the game forgets to switch back to the behind the batter view if you're the home team. Next I'll try an exhibition game where I'm the away team, and I'll play til I come up to bat in the second inning and see if it gets "stuck" in behind the pitcher mode.
And to comment on this batting method being too hard, I actually think that it can become just as natural as the other batting mode once you get used to the fact that the ball is moving away from you instead of towards you. They really should have included this mode from the get go as I find it to add a little more "realism" to the game.Comment
