If Howard wins, it would be arguably the worst selection in the history of MVP voting.

Would be worse if Delgado wins it.

Also tough to top Morneau winning it 2 years ago. Should have easily gone to Jeter or Mauer.

I don't think there's much to discuss. It should be Pujols in a landslide.

CC shouldn't win the Cy Young, as he didn't pitch enough in the NL to justify being the best NL pitcher. However, he should be the MVP. Without him, the Brewers are likely ten games out of the playoff picture. Not only did he win damn near every game he pitched, but he really added a spark to this team. I can't think of one player in baseball who had a greater impact on their team than CC this year.

You can say that Team X wouldn't be in the playoffs if they didn't have Player A for like twenty different players.

I dunno about the "added a spark to the Brewers" part. The rest of the team pretty much imploded down the stretch.

I'm gonna steal something from kujoking's post:

                            BEFORE C.C.
                            43-40

                            AFTER C.C.
                            47-32

They were imploding long before the stretch run. They were imploding right before the All-Star Break. CC got them back on track, and then carried them down the stretch run.

So you really think CC positively affected the attitude of the Brewers during the games in which he didn't start in July and August? But not in September? I'm confused.

one reason for this is that towards the end of the year a majority of teams are either so bad that they've packed it in and are playing callups or have locked it up like chicago and doing the same
