He can be an all-star again, but he will not chose too. Andruw knows what to do, the coaches have told him what to do, and I can even call where the pitch will be thrown without seeing him play much in 2 years. If he will stop trying to pull the ball, he can be good again. He tries to pull every pitch.

It would be ok with me if the Braves signed him with some exceptions. I would fine him $100 for every ball that he tried to pull unless it was a hit. I would fine him $1,000 for every double play he grounds into (he has become a DP machine and when he was last with the Braves, I wanted to just give an out and not have him hit with someone on 1st). I would fine him $1,000 for every strikeout. That should get the Braves good value or cost them nothing with all the money he would give back if he sucked.

But Andruw doesn't understand that. He thinks he is too good for that. He doesn't understand that when a team pays you 21 mil to leave you suck.

I'd rather the Braves take a chance on Sammy Sosa than Andruw Jones.

Speaking of which, why did no one sign Sosa after he had that comeback year in Texas?

That was essentially my take last year when the Dodgers picked him up. Now that's it over in LA, I don't know if I want to take my avatar down...

How many 5 strikeout games did Andruw have last year? I remember he had one in 2007 against the Red Sox.

I just don't see how it's even possible to strikeout 5 times in 1 game.

Andruw did look in great shape in the short workout video that was on sport channels as Sportsforever commented above. LA will still be paying the big bucks over a deferred time frame. If you can pick him up cheap, and he wants to reinvent himself, it could be a beneficial move.

Like Chipper Jones said it doesn't matter what shape he's in if he continues to try to pull everything.

I think the Andruw syndrome (pull anything thrown w/in 5 miles) is happening to Francouer as well...It's sad
