So I see in addition to maybe signing Griffey, we may also be getting Glavine soon...great signings, if this was 1995. We'll see how it pans out, but at what point does this franchise make a comittment to winning in the future with a youth movement?

Weird because I love the Braves... but there's something about Griffey and Seattle.

I think I would have loved this news ten times more if I didn't hear anything about him potentially going to Seattle.

I figure listening to Ken Griffey himself is a slightly better source of information than some beat writer, Griffey sent a text to the Mariners denying the report.

It does seem like he is leaning towards the Braves, but the truth is he essentially has contracts in place with both teams, that's why it's been reported on both sides that it's a done deal. He has to pick up the pen and sign one of them before it means anything.

I think Chipper pretty much confirms what was being said yesterday. Griffey was upset that the news broke about him signing with Atlanta before he had a chance to tell the Mariners. And that's probably the reason he sent the text message saying he was still undecided.

I liked the comments on USSM and LL in regards to Jr delaying his decision because old jealousies die hard and he didn't want to share the spotlight with A-Rod once again.

What is this, the 3rd straight day that he was supposed to "decide by morning"? Flip a coin, dude.

Interestingly enough, DOB is supposed to be live blogging right now but he's MIA. Dunno what that means exactly.

I think he thinks the Braves have a better shot at contending (which isn't hard to beat the M's in that department) but he also believes this might be it and wants to finish his career with the Mariners.

I say the Braves sign him to a one year deal, minus one week. If the Braves are out of the race, he can opt of the deal, sign with the M's for a week long and finish his career with Seattle. That would work for me .

If he doesnt sign with the Mariners now most M's fans wont want him back later.
