I'm glad David Wright is on my fantasy team for this season. Dude is a hell of a player.

Re: World Baseball Classic '09 - Discussion Thread
No, I think he's locked into a Japanese league contract until something like 2013-14. But he's only 22 right now so lots of room to improve and perhaps put on some weight. Kid's thin as a rail.
I think he's been quoted into saying that he doesn't want to leave Japan to play elsewhere, at least for now.Last edited by CoRruPt-; 03-17-2009, 10:38 PM.Comment

Re: World Baseball Classic '09 - Discussion Thread
I believe he is one the highest payed player in the NPB (not too sure but he did recently sign a extension) but the NPB does not have as much money as the MLB and If he decides to come here he'll probably get payed more money than he is making right now.Last edited by jvalverde88; 03-17-2009, 10:49 PM.Mets/Giants/Knicks/Rangers/Manchester United/Notre Dame Football

Re: World Baseball Classic '09 - Discussion Thread
Salary in the NPB is like night and day compared to MLB.
I think Darvish is only getting something like $3M USD per year on his contract and like jvalverde said he's probably one of the better paid NPB players.
If he's signed by a MLB team he's guaranteed something Dice-K plus more, maybe 5years/50.

Wow that was a great game! I'm sure glad the US going to the semis because I have tickets to the games.
And why didn't ESPN show this game. I know it was on MLBN, but all of the US games should be on basic cable. How much basketball can people watch? Especially when its the NIT.Comment

I've got to be honest, I missed a majority of the game, but did watch the end when I told myself I won't waste any more time.
