most complete player? lol IMO he isn't close at all. He is going to strike out 150 times while walking like 20 times which is plain pathetic esp when he is the leadoff hitter. ICHIRO had more intentional walks than soriano had total walks last year how pathetic is that? Soriano is 1 of the worst defensive 2Bs in baseball right now.

A complete player would be arod, pujols, bonds, etc..

He does need to become more patient. As far as defense, I'm guessing a lot of you must not have watched him play very often. Worst defensive 2nd baseman? No way. He's not a great defensive player, but he is at least average. Most power hitters strike out a lot, so that really can't be a big knock on him.

Anyway, no hes not the most complete player, but hes a damn good one.

well kind of how I said that is I live in NY and I plain hate the yanks. but still that stuff is true.

Soriano will hit 40-50 hrs, 100+ rbis, 40-50 SBs with a .300 BA and a OBP like .320-.330 which is a joke for a leadoff hitter.

Arod K like 30 times less than soriano.

I'll take bonds, pujols, arod, and helton over soriano.

Wow, maybe Soriano should just hangup the pinstripes and call it quits...

Despite his below-average defense, he is one of the AL`s triple crown threats. In what, his third season?
And Ichiro, for all his walks has how many HRs despite the fact that he`s not too much bigger than the stick-figure Soriano?

This year Soriano is on pace for about 40 walks, and around 120 Ks. Granted its early in the year, so lots of players are on pace for un realistic stats, but you still have to expect he'll improve with patience, as many young players do.

But his below-average defense is what makes him not as complete a player as some other players. Would I like him on my team?.. Of course I would. But as far as completeness, there are other players. Don't forget about Vlad, guys...

A lot of strikeouts doesn't mean he's not a good player, either. I may be wrong, but doesn't Reggie Jackson hold the record for strikeouts?
