I was just wondering what excuses you were referring to. I just reread the thread and don't see any.
When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”

Really. It's a disease, he was powerless to the alcohol, it's his parents fault, blah blah blah.

        read it again.

Hopefully karma kicks in to full gear soon.

The fact that the medical community recognizes alcoholism as a disease doesn't excuse his behavior and I didn't read a single post that implied that(yes I read them all.) Even the post of the parents (which as you read I disagreed with) I thought was spreading blame around to more people in addition to him.

I disagree. No one to blame but him. If it's a disease, it's self inflicted and irrelevant as the disease itself is not one caused him to drive drunk yet again.

This is the problem today, everyone has some excuse for people. No one takes responsibility for their actions.

If you thought I was saying it was his parents fault, I wasn't. I was just saying that his parents say he is not a monster, but they allowed this to continue under their roof by letting him to continue to live there. Its solely his fault for continuing to drink and driving. Its one thing to say I still love him, but yes he is guilty and should be punished under the law. It is another thing to say he is not a monster and you should pity on our family. Kinda like the person who raped a girl and then kills some cops and his family saying he didn't do anything wrong and was a good person.

LOL. I think you missed my point entirely. That is exactly what I meant(thought I said.)

I guess I am not getting it. I didn't here the mom say he didn't do anything wrong. She said he was a good person. A good person does do something wrong sometimes.(personally, I have no judgement if he was good or not.) I have. Many dumb bad things. But I am a good person.

Now if the mom did say, "he should go free," I am with ya 100%.

I also understand the mother's point that they are in mourning too. They are losing their son to prison for the rest of the parents lives. As a parent, they will feel responsible for that as well as the lost lives because it was their son that did it. If you are a parent you will understand that. If not, hopefully someday.

I do not belief the "disease" excuse for one second. I know I have not ever studied these kinds of things at all, but I can not find any way that the disease known as "alcoholism" put him behind the wheel of that car. If he is diseased, he should be quarantined from society. Enough said.

Unfortunately, it took them a second instance and three deaths later, including that of a rising young star and a heavy influence on many Angels and baseball fans, to make that ultimate decision of 55 to life.

I think that if you are willing to throw caution to the wind and get sloppy drunk and kill somebody you are a monster.

                            Trolling are we?

No one here said alcoholism was an excuse or put him behind the wheel.

There is some pretty funny stuff there though. I can't help but laugh since it made no sense.
