Another shut out by Zack Grienke tonight.

    His line on the season: 4-0, 29 IP, 0 ER, 36 K, 0.86 WHIP

Has a pitcher ever had a better start to a season? Too bad he's in Kansas so nobody notices it

No earned runs does not equal a shutout.

If we had scored with the bases loaded and no outs in the top of the 9th this game would be over.

When will they learn that Mo doesn't perform well against the Sox...

So is Joba hurt or something, because he looked like crap tonight. The four-seamer was 90-92 routinely with no finish and the two-seamer 88-89. His curve and change were non-existant and he spun more sliders than he snapped off. Only because the Red Sox are going to lead the league in GIDP did he manage to hold the Sox to 2 runs through 5.1 IP. Nine hits, four walks, one hit batter, and just two strikeouts. Something just isn't right.

Needless to say, that was the best-worst game I think I've watched. The Red Sox won, but I was left feeling like no team deserved to win that one. The Sox hit into 4 double plays in the first 5 innings (with Joba botching one) and let Jose Molina reach base four times! Meanwhile, the Yankees offense (outside of Molina) consisted of bloops and broken bat hits for most of the night and had the bases loaded against Javy Lopez with no outs and failed to convert. And let's not forget Ellsbury scoring from second on a wild pitch in the first. What an ugly game on both sides.

The two teams play so much that he's going to blow at least one save a year against the Sox (and I'm sure Papelbon will blow one against the Yanks at some point). Yankees fans can take some measure of solace in that he got it over with in the first meeting between the two.

Matt Kemp and Casey Blake have stranded a combined 14 runners in scoring position tonight. They came up with the based loaded with no outs TWICE and both struck out and grounded out in both ABs.

...and the beat goes on for the Jays!

I watched the Chicago feed and I just had to laugh as the Hawk went "he gone!" over Marco Scutaro to lead off the game but well...It was more like this...

Kuo is erratic, but the Dodgers should have at least 10 runs.

10 hits, 7 walks, and they have 4 runs?

                                UGH.
