A-Rod won't discuss latest info in new book

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4117361

    Reporters asked him the following,

"Did you take steroids in High schoo?l"
"Did you take steroids while with the Yankees?"
"Did you tell the whole truth in your news conference?"

He replied "I don't want to go there" to every question. If he was really innocent, he would have just said no to the first two questions and yes to the third question.

I hope the "whole" truth comes out. I feel like the news conference he has already had was a joke. He didn't answer any questions and played it off like he was young and stupid.

I disagree. If teams collude to run Bonds out of the Major Leauge Baseball, Rodriguez deserves the same fate.

The whole thing about tipping pitches is more offensive to me than the drugs.

Everyone was on steroids. But tipping pitches to opposing players? He has less respect for the game than anyone thought if that's true.

Agreed. I hate Bonds but what A-rod has done is a lot worse imo.

Bonds was a jerk and he acted that way. He didn't try to present himself as an all-american boy like A-rod. A-rod keeps lying. Does anyone believe anything the guy says?

If A-rod used steroids when in high school and into his career as a Yankee, that is a lot different then the three year time frame that he claimed in his news conference. I think this story is definitely news worthy.

A-rod has just surpassed Barry Bonds horrible reputation imo. The accusation that he tipped pitches to opposing players is horrible if true.

Bonds was going through trial. Alex is just another popular steroid user. Their situations are entirely different. Teams didnt want to deal with the case hanging over Bonds and the guy is also 40.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Teams aren't colluding to run Bonds out but the media led mob has piled on Bonds, and lying in court has him in legal troubles. I would like to move on from both Bonds and ARod. I thought steroids was an issue because it's dangerous and we don't want kids doing it. How does any of this crap going on and on and on help the real issue? If ARod was doing steroids in preschool all the way up to the time when our society cared because of the health risk, why does it matter? May want to go ask if your parents were doing to be "happy" in the 70's before the extent of the effects of drugs and unprotected sex became clearer.

Never wanted to pile on Bonds or ARod. The whole situation is funny.

If not wanting a media circus = collusion, then sure. Between that and an aging Bonds...it is not collusion.

Bonds' contract expired which was when the "collusion" began. ARod has a long, looooooong, way to go before his contract is up so even if someone dug up a picture of him happily injecting something into his rear there's no way to get him out of baseball. And that's also ignoring the fact that Bonds is over 40, can't play the field, and has legal issues he needs to deal with.

If anyone thought ARod was giving the media the full truth after his little sit down in spring training I've got some magic beans I'd like to sell you. This is a guy who denied use until he was outed with a positive test, then lied to Peter Gammons under the guise of coming clean, then had to have another press conference to make up for it. He has no credibility. He's just some numbskull who happens to be very good at baseball and only cares about himself. He's not clean, he's not a role model, he doesn't even seem like a likable person. I personally will never believe anything that comes out of his mouth and have no interest wasting my own time trying to determine how much he's cheated the game. I only know definitively that he has cheated the game and that's all I care to know. As an all time great, he's dead to me. I'm not fascinated by his character and have no interest in a book about him. He's just a player on an opposing team.

lol...your man-crush on Barry knows no bounds.

Jokes aside, the circumstances are entirely different. Rodriguez is still in the prime of his career and in the early stages of a HUGE contract (as someone rightly mentioned). Barry was a FA, deteriorating physically, and a publicity nightmare for any team NOT named the Giants(fair or not...doesn't matter).

There may have been collusion, but the circumstances help cover it pretty nicely even if there was...lol. Barry might have been a decent DH for some AL team, but a moody, brittle, 44 year old FA is not the same as a relatively healthy lineup anchor still winning MVPs.

And more on topic, I agree with those that say "so what?". I can't think of a single person I know (or have read) that acually fully bought into A-Rods tale anyway.
