Vlad will not sign with the Yankees. Say whatever you want about money but Vlad does not want to leave Montreal.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

You're kidding, right? Why would Vlad stay in Montreal? WHY? That team is going nowhere and he isn't getting much recognition as he would on a successful team. I strongly think he won't stay with the Expos. They can barely attract 10+ thousand fans to their stadium. About him signing with the Yankees I'm not sure. He may or may not. If he is given an opportunity, I think he'll sign. I would love to have him and Tejada on our team. If either of them don't sign, no big deal. I like Mondesi but he's no Vlad. The same goes for Ventura. I don't think money would be the issue here as much as a chance to win a championship(s). I'm thankful for the team we have now but, you can always find ways to improve it.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
It's not all about being recognized, and it's not all about being with the Yankees. Why do you just assume everyone wants to play for the Yankees? He's making a lot of money where he is right now. Plus they're doing really well so far this year. What's wrong with that?

He's blowing his chance. He isn't doing much to get a shot at the big leagues when you're stinking up in the small leagues. The guy can't hit no breaking balls even if his life depended on it.

I know hes not earning a chance, but its like when a team signs a player to a lot of money, and he does terrible, he still plays because they need to make him earn the money. I can't see George just letting Henson struggle in the minors until his contract runs out. George isn't afraid to spend money to improve the team, but he doesn't want to waste it.

Come July, they'll be in last place. For one, I don't like talented players not getting much recognition, and he is very talented. I guess the reason I have for most of the players wanting to play for the Yanks is because I'm high on my team.

Henson is finished, so no need to bring that into the equation.

Could only see Tejada signing under 1 or all of the following circumstances:

              1) Ventura does his annual post all-star break swooon

              2) The Yanks opt to not sign any premiere FA pitchers (ie no Colon)

              3) Tejada goes out of his way, to embrace the idea of playing 3rd base and to play in NY.

I really like Tejada, but my 'off-season' wish list' would most likely look something like this:

              1) Vlad to a multi-year deal

              2) sign Colon or a Vasquez for the rotation

              3) welcome Tejada to play 3rd base.

that said, am thankful for the current team we now have on the field.

The Yanks should get A-Rod to play SS, he's better than Jeter. They should trade Giambi because he's just not going to improve, and he's slow, and he's mellowed since becoming a member of the corporate empire. They should trade for Todd Helton. Soriano is a God. The Yanks should get Glaus or Rolen to play third. They should sign Vlad when he's an FA. Bernie just isn't a great centerfielder anymore, so they should sign Beltran when he's an FA. They should trade for Bonds. Posada is just fine. Then they should sign Zito Mulder Hudson Vazquez Prior Beckett Maddux Matt Morris Jack Morris Bob Gibson Sandy Koufax Bob Feller 3 Finger Mordecai Brown Cap Anson and Abner doubleday, then their 2004 roster will look like this...

                                1b Todd Helton
                                2b Soriano
