    Steinbrenner pays the umps

Did anyone see that call? Not only did he call balls strikes for Rivera, that ball 3 was clearly a strike by Lyon. Absolute ABSOLUTE BS!!!! It wasnt even close, strike 3 posada is out. This game was stolen

No but really, Posada's glove hit the ground to catch one of Rivera's pitches, it was that low and still called a strike. Whenever Rivera was semi-close to the corner it was a strike. Can you honestly tell me you thought Lyon's pitch was a ball (not the last one, the one before). It should have been a strike out and would have changed the complexion of the game.

I think there were some very questionable calls going against Boston. That said, bad calls are part of the game, so crying and saying someone paid off the umps is stupid.

ok, it was a bad call, no a horrible call, however....

                            1. Rivera was getting squeezed a bit too, the contention that he was getting calls is silly

                            2. Hillenbrand had no business trying to score in the top of the 9th, you had a totally rattled Rivera on the mound, stay safe and keep the pressure on. The momentum shifted right back to NY on that play.

                            3. Manny got a terrible jump on the Matsui ball, it should have been an out, than he compunded his mistake by making an awful throw. If you wanna point to one play that killed the Sox it was that one.

Yes, that was a terrible call, Posada should have been out. Maybe the ump did not have the guts to pull the trigger in Yankee stadium, who knows. What I do know is that King George is NOT paying the umps. Lets be rational here and discuss the game in the real world.
