Thats another thing... the red sox coaching pisses the hell out of me. Why walk those 2 guys when you have a guy like Lyon who's never been in a pressure situation like that and you cant count on to get strikes. Although it was a tough situation thanks to the ever so fat manny.... that ball should have been caught, hillenbrand should have scored, RED SOX SHOULD HAVE WON.
Oh god... my head hurts

Walking those two guys was the right move, the only move, unless you want to pitch to Soriano who has about 50 HR's against the Sox already in his career. Once you walk Soriano, you have to walk Giambi to set up the double play. There is too much chance that you won't get Soriano on the front end of that double play, you want Giambi on first and Posada coming down the line to set up the double play. Lyon made every pitch he wanted to in that at bat except the last. The first to balls he threw were sinkers down and in that he just couldn't get Posada to chase. He just choked on 3-2, threw another sinker for some reason, just a bad decision with the bases loaded and a 3-2 count.
What do you mean by Hillenbrand should have been safe? He never should have left third, it wasn't close at the plate.
