"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz on "The List"
I don't think that's the true case. I think they are more likely to be offered steroids and to then take it.
Hispanics are coming from poor neighborhoods in poor countries and seeing dollars as an opportunity to support their family.
When a trainer says that this drug can make that happen, the player is likely to listen. Whereas an American born player is more likely to weigh his options.
The cat's been out the bag on hispanic players juicing. Scouts have often expressed surprise when a guy jumps from 89 to 94 on the gun in a matter of weeks."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz on "The List"
The worst part is, this will never end.
MLBPA still won't allow blood testing, meaning that HGH is still running rampant. In ten years we will find out "clean" players from today were using H, and the whole cycle will begin again.
Damn MLB for letting this crap get to the point it did before they were forced to do something about it.Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!Comment

I don't see anything wrong with this. The fact is, this was not against the rules in 2003. it may be bad for their health, and could've helped some guys break records, but I don't think they should be erased from history becuase they did something that wasn't against the rules at the time.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. We should have believed him.Originally posted by slickdtcDrJones brings the stinky cheese is what we've all learned from this debacle.Originally posted by Kipnis22yes your fantasy world when your proven wrong about 95% of your postComment

Re: Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz on "The List"
Yet now we walk in here with no surprises who's done what. It's unfortunate, but it's true. We've tolerated it and we've allowed it (by we, I mostly mean the authorities namely Bud Selig).
With all that being said, I want every name to come out... but I'd prefer that it doesn't come out all at once. I like this pace, but I'd rather see it come out more rapidly. I'm waiting for Pujols to appear on this list.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
